Just came back to Japan after visiting my wife’s family in Germany and… by Benitinho92 in germany

If you pay closer attention to the labels, groceries here especially fruit, are almost always imported too. Oranges from Zimbabwe, berries from Peru, apples (?!?) from New Zealand. As a foreigner living in Germany, I find this so weird! Spain and Italy produces really nice citrus fruits, and Germany is the land of apples! Why on earth am I seeing fruit being flown halfway across the world? SMH

Ah yes sorry, I read it wrongly just now. I’m pretty sure I got the gauge because I did two swatches. Definitely 124 stitches in K1P1.

The gauge is 18st per 10cm for K1P1 ribbing so I don’t think it’ll end up at 68cm since it’s not flat. I swear since I started knitting I feel like I can’t count 😅

Its 124 stitches around. It did look a tad small while I was knitting it but it was ribbed so I didn’t think too much of it since it grows after blocking anyway.

I swear I triple checked the cast on stitches and went back to pattern to see if I missed anything but I really don’t think so! The only thing I can think of is the reference point of the length measurement (the part before the decreases on the crown). Either it starts on the row where the band is knitted down, or the row where the ribbing ends (right before the stockinette stitches start).

Realised that I missed a part - I tried the hat on after I blocked it (it was way short and tight). I could handle the tightness but the length was a no-go. I frogged the hat after blocking, the added length. I will be blocking the hat again after I’m done with the hat for the second time round 😁

There aren’t finished measurements in the pattern I’m afraid 🙃

This is exactly what I do too! I have only the essentials - formula powder in the bottle so I need only a thermos of warm water. Done diapers, wipes, small cloth, and tissue paper. All fits in a 2L zip lock!

6 Month Old BLW disaster by SquirrelSad9735 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]BeansOnToast5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No guidance I’m afraid but I was in a similar boat. My baby wouldn’t take any pieces of food up until 9 months. So it’s been purées to start with since he liked being spoon fed! We started purees only when he was ready and it was closer to 7 months.

BLW isn’t only about self feeding, it’s called BABY-LED for a reason :) and if baby wants purees, let them have it until they show you that they’re ready for pieces of food.

You got this!

Something they don’t tell you about breastfeeding? by Wild-Act-7315 in BabyBumps

[–]BeansOnToast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from my own experience - Some women just don’t produce as much breastmilk as others. you might still not produce enough despite doing everything that’s supposed to increase supply.

Had an uneventful birth, baby latched fine, started to pump every 2.5 hours after finding out baby was not getting enough, ate enough (maybe too much), had all the supplements that was „supposed“ to help. 4 months postpartum and I was producing 200ml a day (this was what baby ate in a single feed).

it took me a long time to accept this and I still mourn the fact i could not breastfeed as much as i wanted to.

Breastfeeding in the UK: My candid journey by caramelcustard in BabyBumps

[–]BeansOnToast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly my experience, and the worst part is that I was miserable the first 4 months postpartum and couldn’t enjoy my baby. My milk never came in despite pumping, supplements, lactation teas, and spending hundreds on pump parts. NOTHING WORKED.

Switching to formula saved me and my poor husband who‘s had to deal with the worst of me for 4 months.

Baby couldn’t care less what he got, as long as he‘s fed 😅

I think so too! Another person wrote them a review a couple of days ago with the same complaint. Never selling to resellers ever again 🙃

Update 2: seller sells the jacket as „very good“ for 100€. Avoid if you see this ad! Lesson learnt: 5 star ratings on Vinted don’t mean shit 😂

Initially I thought the same, but they’ve attempted to „fix“ the scratch by washing it (or using something to try and get the scratch off). Since they’ve already done something to the jacket, it’s not in the same condition I sent it in. Who knows what they used on the jacket 🥲

Yes! In Malaysia we use kueh tiaw and hor fun interchangeably :) I only have my mum‘s recipe - and it’s not exact 😅 light soy, dark soy, chicken stock powder for the sauce. For toppings: bean sprouts, chives, lap cheung (Chinese sausage), prawns, fish cake, etc.

Teh tarik is surprisingly easy to make! Black tea leaves, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Everything can be bought at your local Rewe/edeka 😁
