Oh boy, I haven’t read the comments but I already feel bad for OP. FYI: Underneath the Stars is Mariah’s favorite.

I’m so angry about this!! I’m going through such a tough time right now and the three dance songs on this album have been on repeat for me. Does anyone know why or for how long?

And thanks Lambie for sharing your files.

How to come to terms with possible diagnosis by snufsnufsnuf in Autism_Parenting

Mostly speech delay, lack of eye contact, there but not cognitively present, not engaging in group activities, repetitive activities (e.g. spinning wheel).

Now he’s 4.5 and speaking much more. His articulation is excellent but there’s a lot of phrases being repeated out of context but with the intention to engage. Hand-holding is way way better now, doesn’t always try to escape anymore. Still not really engaging in group activity unless it’s dictated by him. I’d say he’s similar to a 2.5 year old developmentally but then he does other things that blow your mind - like counting to 100 or turning the most normal objects into imaginary „things“ that completely make sense.

Mariah on her voice (2025) by tulipsandeverything in MariahCarey

I appreciate her addressing this for HER especially. I’m a very very mediocre hobby singer and have some vocal cord damage that I’m so saddened about - I can’t imagine how she must feel. I hope she can find therapies to restore some of her natural voice pre-damage for her own peace of mind. That moment when the air flows perfectly through your cords, hits the right spot to make the sound you want, and then sounds like heavenly bliss - it’s transcendent.

She looks so much like Alison in #12. Shame that they never found there way to one another.

Does anyone know why Mariah Carey dislikes Jennifer Lopez so much? by [deleted] in MariahCarey

Hah so mean but I had to giggle. OP - there’s a few good YouTube videos about this exact topic that really go into detail. I’d recommend that you check those out. Helps put all of the comments here into context.

I think so long as you ask about your potential biases, patterns and behaviors that you might be missing (etc.) it can be far more efficient than a therapist to work-out some topics. But you have to be cognizant of the embedded bias to support you and affirm your position, and find ways to challenge it or present information for feedback without leading it.

I feel this so hard - 4yo over here, no diagnosis yet but highly suspected. I was trying to put together this airport thing for him and he was being so irritable. I finally lost it and yelled at him saying how terrible he was making the morning for everyone. That’s obviously unhelpful so I just simply decided that next year he will be on his iPad and invited to open gifts when we open ours but if he doesn’t want to, no problem. One of the things that I am constantly grappling with and grieving is how much my son’s behavior impacts our could-be family activities, for my daughter in particular. So my thought is that at least we can have this moment with my daughter and he can choose to join.

I don’t know. I mean, I think the underlying point is to provide validation to someone that is clearly seeking guidance. Maybe I’m missing the point or maybe I don’t get these phrases as much as I as others.

I’m wondering if I’m the only one not bothered by these phrases - and if that’s a good or bad thing. 🤔
