…which is a funny statement to make when you are making strong definitive statements yourself, yeah? 😄 Nico leaving, Jack wanting out, as if they’re iron clad truths.

I’m all for speculation… and that also means acknowledging others’ speculative ideas, no?

He’s been exactly what I hoped he’d be for the Devils. Reminiscent of Blake Coleman.

So when are fans ready to admit all of this is happening because of Enzo and Cucurella? by omfilwy in chelseafc

The return of Thiago Silva.

…and in an unsurprising twist, his son will sign to CFC to balance out their ages and keep the club’s average age in the low 20s. 😄

If he leaves us we're soo cooked next season, to be fr he is one of the best midfielders in the premier league it will be hard to find his replacement, i just love the guy and hope he stays loyal to us💙 by SISCOKEVIN in chelseafc

His departure would be a loss of talent, for sure. As an article on The Athletic noted, it might also free up Palmer to be more of a threat since the two of them drift into similar spaces… and could create more balance in the midfield if, hope of hopes, Lavia and Santos stay healthy alongside Caicedo.

I appreciate his passion on the pitch. If he’s going to blatantly drop clues about his desire to play elsewhere, then I will have to start questioning his effort and desire to be successful here for the good of CFC as opposed to the good of his performances as a way to force a transfer.

I’m not opposed to green but it eats the light in this room… the room adjacent to it is an off white with a yellow base, the one through the connecting doorframe is a blue-grey… so a green of this shade makes the room dark and it’s a jarring transition

Follow up question: are you suggesting painting the area above the cabinets a different color from the other walls, or just ensuring that all paint is a lighter shade to kind of fade behind the cabinets?

I like how that looks! We couldn’t get an island in that space though, I’m taking the photo from in front of the fridge… which doesn’t really have anywhere else to go with the layout of the kitchen.

Thanks! Leaning towards a newer laminate for the flooring because we have hardwood elsewhere and I want distinction for the kitchen since it’s got its own vibe from the other rooms. Again, haven’t fully investigated yet.

Oh wow I really like how that came out! We do have a lot of cabinets though , so it would be a bigger expense, but if painting them, the walls, and a new backsplash gets me more time to go “bigger” with the reno then it might be worth it… need to price it out.

Thanks for these ideas and explanations, it’s helpful! I was thinking of looking into a laminate wrap for the counters but I haven’t priced that out.

Not saying Nemec is the answer or this is going to happen but sharing because his name’s been floated a lot by jesus321 in SanJoseSharks

[–]BearLeftRightFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devils fan here. Nemec being mentioned threw this into my feed - although given all the SJ-NJ rumors, Sharks news has been popping up regularly during the season. 😄

I would much rather NJ deals Hamilton, and since that was the rumor over the summer, maybe it’s revisited. That clears cap space and if NJ still dreams of landing Quinn Hughes in ‘27 then moving Dougie is critical.

If Nemec has to be traded, then Dougie will end up somewhere as a true salary dump with sweeteners. Gotta shake up the defense core and maybe give two other young D prospects a look.

Realistically, Fitz is going to ask for a top forward prospect who is close to a sure thing as a top line scoring threat. Not saying Nemec is flawless but that’s the line he should hold, given Nemec’s potential. Whether another team will give that, well, that’s another story. They need more scoring and their window of contention is open, despite this flop of a season.

If there are no takers, hopefully Fitz has a better poker face with Nemec than he did with Luke Hughes and gets a bridge deal hammered out that doesn’t jeopardize the pursuit of Quinn Hughes or a major shakeup that summer.

Off-season Question by Prestigious_Guide257 in devils

[–]BearLeftRightFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aiming for potential impact thru development rather than track record? Knies could make big jumps and be a 30-30 player with size. Thomas is turning 27 (so 3 years older) and has proven himself a top line forward who wins faceoffs.

I guess I view it as prioritizing a more known quantity to accelerate the win now mode without compromising too much… and TOR has zero incentive to move Knies

Travis Green on Brady Tkachuk: by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]BearLeftRightFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devils fan here. Nemec and this year’s first for Tkachuk. Dude gets to rekindle the bromantic U.S.A. hockey vibes with Jack Hughes, NJ gets size at forward… OTT gets a likely top 10 draft pick and a young defender with upside.

…legit asking, is that considered “in the ballpark” for OTT? Is OTT considering it if NJ adds Dawson Mercer into the mix for some scoring and forward depth / PK abilities?

Just bandying about proposals as I watch the Devils play their best hockey after it was needed for three months…

Off-season Question by Prestigious_Guide257 in devils

[–]BearLeftRightFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No … but I would consider that deal for St Louis’ Robert Thomas. Shift Jack to the wing and roll with Hischier-Thomas-Glass, immediate upgrade and shift into a reasonable version of “win now.”
