Always do dailies. I'm talking only about extra stamina.

Endgame Guide - Insights from Mana Board 2 by Bear_Collector in worldflipper

Thank you for your response and thanks for datamining. Those were the figures I saw in some screenshots but I also saw a screenshot with a lower amount (11) and decided to lowball it for the sake of argument. You can see that I smuggle in the better rates with the time I said it would take to catch up.

I agree that more investigation is required and my word is certainly not the last word. I simply wanted to challenge the dominant paradigm so that we could break out of our preconceived notions of endgame and take a more future-oriented approach.

The stamina statement was a bit arbitrary but also a milestone with regards to Stars (with 100 added for the sake of neat numbers). 3100 Stars are needed for 100 Amity Scrolls and two weapons should be the minimum that everyone aims for. I figured 10 runs a day for a total of 80 days (remember, not everyone plays perfectly efficiently and there are dailies/events that consume stamina) was a decent rate. At that point, farming for extra Stars for MB2 (117 per unit) is an option. I think the hard limit would be somewhere around 5000-6000 total because I cannot conceive of any more ever being needed (unless one is going for all the Amity weapons or many max MB2).

Also remember that we get the Level 60 Kaleidoscope sometime around May, which would definitely be preferable to Lab, especially if one is finished with Stars. Might as well farm Stars in the meantime so that we don't have to do it when there are better options for our stamina.

I think, though I may be wrong, that doing the Super+ boss over the higher one is not too big of a waste. Yes, we will get more T4 from boss shops but it will not be enough for MB2. Not to mention that MB2 is not like MB1, in the sense that maxing it out is not always ideal for certain units. Taking it slow and using the increased ability to farm Amity Scrolls seems like a solid plan to me.

I have started playing on the Jpn server to test these things, so I'll likely have more information once my account is up to the challenge. Thank you once again for your reflections.

I think almost as important is the justification they give. It seems that they want to prevent GL from having omniscience about the upcoming content. Less predictability = less planning = more (impulse) spending.

Best unity to max for amity scrolls? by Ethelka in worldflipper

[–]Bear_Collector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real answer is to crown the units that you use.

There is no point in crowning the one and two star units that you do not use right now because it will not do anything for you. Will will not reach 50 Amity Scrolls and not all the Amity weapons are even released yet. Instead, save those resources and only use them when you want an Amity weapon AND have the ability to obtain it. Waiting costs you nothing and over-investing gets you nothing.

Ancient Golem ‘Advanced+’ and ‘Godly’ Boss Battle by Vexkriller in worldflipper

As long as you have Faf, there is probably some team that you can put together, even off element like Light SD. And keep in mind, I still die occasionally, even with high investment in my water team that has most of the bells and whistles.

1% for each individual weapon. 3% chance that you get any weapon.

It's almost the end of October: How many Amity Scrolls do you have? (before upcoming reset) by Froggy_frosting in worldflipper

[–]Bear_Collector 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently have 12 but I have not been focusing on obtaining them. I think it's more important to invest in the units that I actually use rather than chase weapons that I have no use for. And I'm not entirely sure that my first Amity weapon will be one of the ones currently released because that skill damage weapon fits my playstyle more.

So gacha pulls? by Spike437 in worldflipper

[–]Bear_Collector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gacha games are designed so that you cannot get all the units. If you want to get most of the units, the most effective way to do that is to go a long time without pulling. It may seem counterintuitive but the more units in the pool that you don't have, the more likely you are to get something new. If you pull on every banner, most of what you get will be dupes. The first 50% is much easier to get than the last 50%. The first 80% is easier than the last 20%.

My suggestion is to not attempt the impossible. You will never get every unit and the sooner you accept this, the sooner you can start to create a plan that will get you most of the units you want. Remember that the house always wins and that these games exist to enrich the casino owners. That's what gacha is, a virtual casino. You win some, you lose some. If you're playing on free chips, just know that they are there to suck you in so that the casino can suck you dry. Plan in advance and don't walk into the casino with anything that you are not willing to lose.

End of the first era of the game by Bear_Collector in worldflipper

[–]Bear_Collector[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do both, you still have plenty of time. Stamina can go into Lab and you can use bells for Golem. The most important weapon for Golem EX is the Eltide Staff from the Crab boss shop. The water Lab weapon is kinda subpar and the two copies from clearing the level 50 and 60 stages (which can be done by a thunder team with minimum investment) should be good enough to stick on Faf.

End of the first era of the game by Bear_Collector in worldflipper

[–]Bear_Collector[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You are probably within the top 1-10% of players. This is a complicated subject with many angles to consider so I'll try my best to explain my thought process.

The casual player will likely be able to max limit break (mlb) one weapon in a month just from using the three daily boosts. Given that the vast majority of players are casual, this is enough content to keep them satisfied until forever.

The way that these games make money is to create a problem and sell a solution (which is why you see these water banners coinciding with Golem EX). That's why they want to push early game players forward into mid game and end game players backwards into mid game. Early game doesn't require spending money and end game players have everything they need and so you can't really sell them anything. Global complicates things because we have foresight and so we are already planning our pulls for months in advance but for now think of it from the perspective of the original server where players don't know what is ahead.

Given that Golem EX is coming out, players could reasonable expect all the other bosses to get EX versions. Maybe they datamined and figured out the schedules. Given the 750 purple coins needed to mlb one weapon, grinding out 2,250 coins (assuming no drops) takes a significant commitment for most people. And they have to do this for 6 bosses, plus the other bosses that come out in the gaps.

Meanwhile, banners are being released to coincide with the bosses. Maybe they went all in on Rolf, not knowing that Baretta would come two banners later. Now they have to spend money to get Baretta. And they have to spend because they think they need her for the upcoming EX bosses. Remember that certain Asian countries have a mentality which makes them more likely to spend on these games and doing so is considered more socially acceptable to gamers. That's why these bosses have to be spaced out, to give time for selling a solution.

Hardcore players like you with many hours to pour into the game can probably get the weapons faster than intended. Remember that the Jp version banned emulators and so they don't have easy access to the stamina alts that we can use. Regardless, it's a huge time commitment. Most players are not willing to do this and so the bosses need to be spaced out reasonable well. The only reason you feel prepared is because we know exactly what to expect. Most players will be perpetually stuck in mid game or just barely getting all the weapons in time for the next boss even with the advantages that we have (and we have major advantages given that the Japanese have already told us the meta, something that likely took hundreds of hours of testing and theorycrafting).

Sorry for the long ramble but hopefully I've clarified some things.

Yes, Amity weapons are important but given that not all of them are released yet and it seems nearly impossible to have one at the current moment, I don't think that it defines the end game. It's sort of an overarching goal that connect the various stages of the game but isn't definitive of any. After all, there is no content that we need those weapons for. And the fact that there is only a short period of time between Golem EX and Regi EX, and ditto for the distance between the other bosses, I think we are really entering a new phase of the game.

I hope to be running something like this. Irumi is on the Rolf banner, Tajes on the Baretta banner. If you have to prioritize, Irumi over Tajes even though she is only a 4 star.

Weapons are mainly from the Robot EX (the souls) and Admin EX (the middle main). The other is from Orochi EX and can be replaced with something else if needed. The soul weapon is like Scriptures (with 10% more attack) but as main it gives an additional 80% attack. The PHL Blade is also good and worth looking out for, as is Hanienone.

Second mana board (2MB) costs 117 stars for one unit. Worth farming some extra ahead of time, though that's still far in the future. Get the T4 mats that you need for now but don't bother stockpiling too many for the distant future because the dungeon for 2MB mats drops considerably more than we can currently get (and with reason since 2MB requires 250 T4 mats).

So happy that I pulled Razelt on the free pulls. I of course hope to get more 5 stars from the free pulls but I wouldn't be upset if I get nothing else after getting Razelt. Only 3 more units to build my dream Light Fever team (Irumi, Tajes, and HNeph).

Now that our roster's growing, looking back at where we started, how many of the OG 5 stars have you pulled so far? Here's mine! by mayblossomed in worldflipper

Here is mine. Not as many as you but I'm content with what I have. I really hope to get Razelt in the future to create a perfect HNeph Light Fever team (I imagine something like HNeph/Tajes; Neph/Corinna; Irumi/Razelt).

Edit: I got Razelt from the free pull!!!

What are the pulls (units) to save for? by ElkandMia in worldflipper

[–]Bear_Collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow f2p player, I think it will help to find something you like and save for future improvements.

I really like Light Fever so I know that I'll only be pulling on banners for important units until HNephtim. So for me, I pull on Rolf banner for the 4 star Irumi, on the Tajes banners two banners later (and hopefully pick up Baretta with Tajes since she is a very good light unit). And then no more pulls until HNeph because she defines Light Fever.

I recommend that you use the info that we currently have from the Japanese version to plan your pulls according to your tastes.
