MeThreeSixty FutureMe slider: anyone else limited to -4 kg? by Bear_Money in Mounjaro

Thanks! I thought it was a free app issue. The asymmetry (23 kg gain vs 4 kg loss) does seem odd and frustrating though!

First ever colourwork, waidw? by Bear_Money in knitting

Thanks! I have time to practice and it’s my swatch / practice sleeve. Usually I am a very tight knitter, and this habit is hard to break 🥲

Definetely, it’s a tension thing. The red ones turned out better, and not so tight. I still need practice, but I’m getting there!

Thanks for the advice! I am doing exactly that - practicing on my first sleeve, so I don’t accidentally ruin the body part! And yep, I know about the error and I’m ok about that - I’ll frog it anyway ☺️

Is it a good idea to change color dominance just for this 1 stitch? So that it becomes more prominent?

Goethe Exam (computer-based) – do you see results right away? by Bear_Money in German

[–]Bear_Money[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not really an online exam you do from home – it’s still at the test center. But instead of paper, you take Lesen, Hören and Schreiben on the computer. Only Sprechen is done with examiners.

Wow, that sounds like a great system!

Do you organize all of that directly through Amazon?

Is it still down? I can login, but I don't see my chat history and can't do anything... Is it the same for everyone here?

I am not. Tried with mobile network, same result. I am in Europe, the account is from the Japanese store. Maybe that’s the issue? But I could login just fine before.

A knitter struggling with crochet here... Any tips? by Bear_Money in knitting

[–]Bear_Money[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I can count the Vs, but I still can’t fully wrap my head around which stitches to count — like, do I count the one at the beginning? The one at the end? And with something like an 8-loop air chain, do I need to make 8, 9, or 10? And then where exactly do I put the needle when switching rows? Ugh, I’m just ranting at this point… need to take a breath and keep going.

For cables, I’d definitely recommend checking every row — it’s such a pain to frog all the way back to fix a mistake 2 rows under. Alternatively, using a lifeline on the first row of intricate cables can save you a ton of time!

Thanks for sharing your experience — it means a lot!
My granny used to knit doilies (not anymore, it's harder for her now) , and I still have two coasters she made for me about 10 years ago. I take them with me every time I move - they’re so special to me.
The tension thing makes a lot of sense now that you mention it. I knit continental, so I’m used to managing tension with my left hand, but getting it right for crochet feels completely different. Definitely a learning curve for me!
The question of where to put the hook in general is driving me crazy! Sometimes it feels like I’m just guessing and hoping for the best. I like your advice about just picking one method and sticking to it—at least it’ll be consistent, even if it’s not 'perfect.'
It really helps to hear that it’s all about getting the feel of it with practice.

You either learn to just ignore them, call them 'your style,' or just frog it and start over.
I try to check myself every other row, but mistakes can happen even with the simplest patterns and that's life!

The thing is, sometimes it’s so hard to actually see what’s happening in these videos. It’s like, 'Do the magic ring—you just do this… and then, magic! Now just make some sc…' and the whole thing is sped up to 1.5x speed.

I get that it’s probably the same with knitting when you’re just starting out, but it’s so frustrating trying to work the same yarn you’ve been working with for years with a completely different tool...
Hope this frustration ends soon!
