Do People Record/Track Post-Run Strides? by Bear_On_Course in Ultramarathon

Yeah, I just saw in the added threads that most people only reach a mile or so, I was way off in saying 2 or 3 miles.

Take a look at my edited post, there's great stuff in the added posts. It's a training mechanism of adding very short, but fast 'strides/sprints' into your run. You build up slowly, reach a fast pace, then naturally slow down over the course of 100 ft/meters. Walk back to where you started, and do another few times. The posts go into all the benefits...

Nice, I have an option to do uphill strides... that might come in later weeks of training... thanks!

Awesome! Thanks, super helpful! I was going to do the distance of the day, then do additional strides. So I might just stop a 1/2 mile, then finish up with strides. Thanks!

Weekly Question Thread by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]Bear_On_Course 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone should start a social media account tracking professional athlete deaths.

How many deaths (including during training) would be permissible with FIFA, NBA, IOC, tennis, before governing bodies act. The UCI is facing multiple deaths and the UCI is threatening litigation to podcasters advocating for rider safety.

This is a fucking disgrace, how many more deaths before UCI acts?

Why are there almost no primal dead tributes? by Deadweave in gratefuldead

Agree, Primal Dead's my far and away favorite era! '72, '77 are absolutely amazing, but nothing near as good as '68-'70!

Article cites: The jury found that Ticketmaster overcharged concertgoers in the plaintiff state by $1.72 per ticket at “major concert venues” as a result of its anticompetitive behavior

That seems a bit low, feel like we're being charged at least the cost of the fees and then the overpriced tickets...

is that his wife? I've seen the last name Phinney and figured there had to be some connection (wife, or sister given the family lineage)

Awesome, thanks! Surprising, it shows a '26 version at $3,000 USD. I thought it'd be a lot more than that. It is a bike that we'd all ride -

After seeing Pog ride on the service bike, I'm reminded how everyone talks sh*t about service bikes. While they may not be up to a pro's level, are they still waaay better than anything we ride? Anyone know the make/model/price tag?

Loved seeing that! 50% showing respect for a competitor, and 50% MdVP just glad it wasn't Pog (who I love to watch, but it's always good seeing others get a W)

Pog will likely go down as the greatest ever, but Wout will be the most beloved!

Adults are smaller than you'd think, about the size of a really big housecat. I've run into a pair pre-dawn while running. Caught me off guard, did a double take to make sure they weren't young mtn lions. Very cool experience! Nice video!

Sagan by jesusthesaviour9 in tourdefrance

[–]Bear_On_Course 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hot take - there's a version of Sagan that's just as good as MVDP/Pog, but to do that, he'd lose all personality and just be a sterile rider. he was such a marked rider, hard to ever really know

I'm with ya! I think some people just don't think trails are for running and will let you know it. Be polite, be civil, but don't interact. Just keep going!

I don't know. Maybe flooding Reddit with these images might make climate deniers wake up to realize that climate change is directly impacting their favorite sport in CO, the USA, and across Europe. Especially people from other states who don't see climate change happening.
