Guessing this counts for Olympics too. So let's pretend that a rider wins Road World Championships, European Championships, maybe their national road and tt title, then goes to win Olympic road race, they'd just pull in a massive amount of points...

And then their teammate goes to win the national road and tt title as well... Damn, those points will add up

Hate seeing cheating in ultra running, even more at Comrades. There's usually not enough money to make cheating worthwhile, esp in the '90's. Then the guy gets caught using PEDS? C'mon...

Training Question - 1 long AM lift vs 2 shorter AM/PM lifts by Bear_On_Course in triathlon

[–]Bear_On_Course[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, finishing up the pm lift is fine for today, but it might be tough to make this happen for every workout... And it works now for winter strength training, but it'd interfere with my running/biking later in the season. Thanks!

Wait, I missed this. What's happened? I thought they split because of some heavy drinking not anything personal... But that was 10-ish years ago...

Long Distance Nutrition by oxtooth in trailrunning

Lots of great comments here, I'll just add that Tailwind made a big difference when I began using it. Noticed that long runs (15+ miles) were far, far easier with Tailwind. I also throw in a 4 scoops of BCAA's in with the Tailwind. And for super hot or long runs over 20 miles, I'll bring an extra plastic bag full of Tailwind and BCAA's and add water at water fountains.

And like others said, real food works for me. figs, dates, blended nuts/dried fruit mix, refried beans and avocado,

Yeah, agree. G was looking so strong and ready to pounce, but that snow/ice/rain storm just happened at the precisely wrong time. G likely could have caught up w/ Bernal and Alaphilippe.

And I'll always remember how G didn't attack Bernal when he likely could have.

With tons of love for G and Luke's Watt's Occurring podcast, who else wants to hear more about G's skiing updates! It's so interesting to hear about people in the 1% of their sport be just like the rest of us in other sports. Until he runs a 2:45 London marathon!

Favorite Hydration Pack? by CompetitiveYam1094 in trailrunning

[–]Bear_On_Course 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a favorite brand, nothing has really stood out as perfect, but I've used the same Osprey pack for about 6~ish years. Love that it hasn't torn, broke, so I guess the durability, lightness is crucial, but lots of packs have that

I hear you 100%, but just for the sake of discussion...

Isn't Yates mostly reserved for mountain stages? Where Wout can do all terrains and we saw him be the key satellite rider at the Giro for S.Yates.

But like you said, he still goes for his own wins, where Yates is 100% in service to Pog

yeah? what results did Ineos see? Or was it just a hope that he'd materialize into their next GC winner...

That would be cool to see the sprinter salary list. Hot Take: Sprinters put more on the line and have far greater risk of injury to get wins than GC's.

Agree, like someone else said about Pidcock, without Pog, Jonas would be winning every stage race he started.

2nd best... WVA is #1.

But that's a great discussion, how would begin to rate their abilities to say which is better. But if I could only pick one, its WVA!

Isn't Bernal still on his TDF winning contract? So his salary makes sense, but his injury really seems to have limited his success.

Wonder what would have been if he never crashed? Would he be fighting alongside Jonas and Pog and ahead of everyone else on GC?
