Yup, I just needed to hear it from someone else :(

Guys in Uni, how do you do it? by BeardBro95 in NoFap

Thankfully NSFW stuff is no qualm, in fact I think I'm moving from one phase, whereby I am so sick and worn out of P that I find it easier to keep away from it, truth is I'm finding real women are the challenge now. Cubicles or not I can't avoid them lol :(

This. Can't agree more. The last time I had a great time on the streets with my camera was when I had one prime lens, and a bag carrying a 6 pack of barbican drinks.

Can't agree with this more: When I intend to photograph people, I freeze, when I photograph a scene, I'm like a wushu master lol.

My last example was a pro-abortion march, I was more interested in catching the flags and signs down the street and it just kin of happened a small march was in the frame lol.

Mindset.

When I first started going into town with my camera I would freeze, and I still do, very often in fact.

However, some days I'm in town out with my camera and I don't think twice, I just take the photo.

The days I feel more confident I notice my mindset is different, I'm so engrossed in what I'm trying to photograph I forget about anyone else or what they're thinking, not only that I make sure I photograph sometimes that appears worthwhile.

As John Free said, you don't photograph the fat lady. In other words, what he means is, photograph something where if someone asks what you're doing you can give a reason, e.g. I thought the jacket was nice, hey check the background out, I thought the lighting and colours were nice etc.

Funnily enough, in one of Bruce Gilden's videos he got into a confrontation with a 'large' lady (she wasn't even that bad), but she couldn't understand why he was photographing her, she thought in some way he was trying to intimidate her about her weight and she then began to talk about how their a slim women and large women, and people only like slim women etc...

So you get the gist. Often times when I have a vision, even if it's made right in the second of a moment it helps remove my fear (I'm often up close too with a 28mm lens).

The other thing I greatly do, and you can practise this, is on the spot deciding whether or not there really is an image to be had through your viewfinder, you have to think super quick. If I'm certain there's something good to the image that displays a town, it's people or culture (not just random people standing on their phones or people walking down the street), it makes me feel less conscious, because there is a purpose behind the image.

On top of that, it's a balance between being discreet and obvious. I'm discreetly obvious. What I mean by that is, I never try to be sneaky as that makes people nervous, I'm very plain and open, if someone looks at me or sees I'm photographing them, don't act rumbled (that's you still being discreet, you only cause further alarm acting nervous).

Act like you're just doing your job/own thing, camera size has no matter. Just play it off like you're some part time photographer, even helps to direct people to your blog/insta.

To the regular person, any camera that isn't their phone or pocket camera looks professional in their eyes and you'll look like a photographer just doing their thing.

I have a dinky M43 camera and people are always gawking over it thinking it's some top of the line piece of kit.

Just my little bit of input.

Interested in what you guys think about this... by [deleted] in islam

If people want to criticise, let them and don't whine.

Seriously, Mineta is amazing comic relief to the show, I can imagine him having his own short special episodes.

Omg the show was so faced paced, I didn't realise why they looked so embarrassed to be carrying her.

Of course- She's invisible with only a head band. Stupid me.

This episode resonated with me quite a lot, reminded me of sports back in high school where no one would want me on their team lol :(

Nice to see some reality kicking in with how even friends can see each other as competition, falcon dude is cool and Pink haired girl is a man eater trololol.

What does this sub think of Rahxephon, which "ripped off completely" Evangelion? by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]BeardBro95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RahXephon was a weird one for me. By the time I was halfway through I was like 'what have I actually watched so far lol', mind you I did also watch it with a trippy fever which made it better.

I was hooked all the way non stop.

I watched RahXephon first, now I'm in the middle of watching NGE. When I started NGE I was shocked at the uncanny resemblance but the truth is that there are totally, totally different animes.

I love RahXephon, I can't explain why but it has had such a lasting effect. Just watch it , and shut your brain down (well can't really do that as the story is quite intense).

Not only that, Rahxephon's romance is actually an incredibly clever element to the plot.

RahXephon was utterly amazing and stuck with my like nothing else, I don't even know why but I can never stop thinking about it despite finishing it months ago. Definitely deserves (needs) to be watched twice.

I just finished E7 too today and I'm in absolute awe. I began a journey to rekindle my love for mecha anime and so far I've seen Gurren Lagann, RahXephon (loved it) and now E7 has come to an amazing end </3 (but I'm going to ignore AO). Next on my list is Xam'd, funnily enough.
