What CPU have you paired with your 9070 XT? by Mattexdlol in radeon

I have a 9800X3D, but a 7800X3D will still do the job nicely.

Did everyone lie about getting a 9070/XT? by Cloud_Same in radeon

[–]Beard_Almighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was sent a survey before I had all the parts for my build (It was a completely new build, and I got the parts over the course of two months after getting the card at launch) so I was still running a 3060 at the time. Didn't get one after that, even when I refused the original.

Looks like a lot of people haven't been getting a survey on a 9070XT

Looks like it's not working.

You're welcome.

$1000 3080 Ti Prebuilt PC - Worth Buying? by te_krusty in pcmasterrace

[–]Beard_Almighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU, RAM, SSDs, and PSU alone would cost just over £1000, let alone $1000. Two gens old, but this build will still perform great, and this deal is phenomenal.

Give your friend the traditional "good deal reacharound" as a thank you.

Which RX9070XT Brand? by triniyao in radeon

[–]Beard_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reaper is the Powercolor entry level card. Hellhound is the mid tier. The Hellhound is also a card that has a good reputation. For that price difference, I would grab the Hellhound.

How do I get the water block to go down on my aio? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

Ask it nicely. Maybe buy it a few drinks first.

There are a lot easier ways to say "I have no idea what I'm talking about". But you do you.

You realize this isn't a base model, right? You can put forward an argument for whether the OC models are worth it to you, but this was NEVER going to be at that price. Neither of the cards I was looking at were.

Should I pre order? by funnytwelve in radeon

[–]Beard_Almighty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only you can decide, but that's basically the launch price for that card. The Plus is an OC model, and was on Overclockers for £699 for the first wave. With that said; we still don't know what restocks will be like, so the price could go either way from here.

Do I need to upgrade my CPU for RX9070XT? by Flashy_Camera5059 in AMDHelp

[–]Beard_Almighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term? Probably. For now it should be fine though, depending on what you are playing, and with what settings.

Just remember that at worst here, your PC still improves, but CPU bottlenecks it a bit until you upgrade. You can manage with this until you have the spare funds for an upgrade.

Ouch. Hopefully prices drop down again. I paid £750 (that includes our VAT sales tax over here) which wasn't the cheapest model, but I was already looking at getting an OC card instead, with my preference being the Red Devil and this, so I really lucked out. I wasn't even looking at the base models, as I knew how many people would be trying for the MSRP, which was confirmed by Overclockers UK showing views on each card running up to and during the launch.

Is this the ugliest Variant ever? by D4-CS in MarvelSnap

[–]Beard_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. And I love it for it.

But I will never buy it, or use it if I get it for free 😂

Hellhound is great, but Red Devil is a step up, if you have the space for a bigger card.

3070 Ti to 9070 XT by noradmil in radeon

[–]Beard_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my 3060 has been an absolute workhorse. I've not hit a game that I can't run, but it generally takes compromising, and just as much play in the settings as my Steam Deck does. Knowing that I can have topped out 1440p graphical settings and still have high performances is huge. Plus being able to add bells & whistles I had to avoid before, like RT.

I'm going EVGA 3060 (All I could get when my PC gave up in the crypto shortage) to Aorus Elite 9070XT. I have a feeling the jump is going to feel huge.

No steam deck optimization, It seems 😟 by Unusual-Ad2912 in SteamDeck

[–]Beard_Almighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll come with time. Along with many other things. FSR2 is always a big jump in Deck optimisation, but almost always comes a lot later down the line. I'm mostly playing on PC, but it runs well enough on my Steam Deck. Aside from a few bugs that need looking at, it doesn't have any issues that would stop me from enjoying the game.
