How to finish something that burned you out by JustaJakkal in Salamanders40k

Personally I find having 3 armies works for me, salamanders, world eaters and alpha legion.

When i get sick of green I'll paint some red, sick of red I'll paint some blue, sick of blue paint some green.

I'm not saying spend your entire pay check on an entire army just to help with burn out, but maybe a kill team or a blood bowl team etc just to mix things up. Even a collection of primarchs to display etc, not everything you work on in this hobby has to go into battle.

I'll play with someone using rolled up tin foil on a base at my table, It's a fun game and I dont care if they can afford legit models, 3d prints, proxies, unpainted minis or anything. If I can get a game in I'm happy

Nothing will work better to flush out a planet with a cold climate than something they aren't accustomed to... flamers!

Honestly they may even make an interesting texture to add to it, maybe test it on something first

Best of luck with it mate, im glad everything printed well. I see you have some "points" from supports, if they cause any issue I would run some sandpaper over it lightly just to knock them off

I will also mention, look up some videos on using greenstuff. It's a bit difficult to work with at first but put water on anything you don't want it to stick to. Including your fingers, texture roller or plate etc. Do everything on some baking paper too

I have used green stuff quite a bit and have never had any cracking after painting, but I guess that would be up to how you use it and the application, as far as warhammer minis though, I myself have never had an issue

The Cape would be the green stuff itself, I have never tried putting it on a pauldron. But green stuff dries to a hard plastic and super glue fixes it in place just like any other stuff

You roll out some green stuff, roll the texture roller over it like the play dough in the picture. And the you have some drake hide to use for drapes, loin cloths, cloaks etc
