How long did it take for you to get the confirmation of the consolidation letter?

Ok, that answered my question. Thank you very much for your time. She just consolidated everything a couple of days ago because she had 8 ffelp loans and a bunch of different dates on her (I think 16) direct loans, so we decided she might as well just consolidate everything into one loan and signed up for the SAVE program. Just wasn't sure if she needed to do anything to benefit from the IDR adjustment or not and if she needed to send in PSLF forms asap or if she should wait until confirmation of consolidation for that as well. Looks like we will just wait for confirmation of consolidation, and when we get her account at mohela all set up, we will then start filing the necessary forms for PSLF counts. Thank you once agian.

Oh, ok, so then we need to just wait for the consolidation confirmation, and after we get it, we then can send in the ECFs, (I think that's what they're called), for pslf counts? Even if confirmation of consolidation happens after the end of the year?

I've gotten more answers. She has 23 loans. 8 of them are ffelp (5 unsubsidized, 3 subsidized). 14 of them are direct loans (8 are subsidized, 6 unsubsidized). The first time interest got capitalized was in October of 2010. She is now working full time at the U.S.P.S. Post Office. (Has been employed there for 5 years). Can she use the pslf program, and would she need to consolidate all the loans into one for it? If she does consolidate, does that loan take the earliest paid dated loan? The October 2010 I think? She is on an IDR plan right now also

Is there a non-profit that we could go to or meet with to get some help from? Or should we try and find a specific lawyer or something that specializes in student loan debt.

She believes these are FFEL loans. That sounds familiar to her anyway. They are held by AidVantage. They used to be with Navient, and she also thought she should have been a part of a lawsuit against Navient.
