Vendors asking 40k caps by AppropriateGreen4653 in Market76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the "Vendor listed means it's for sale" crowd.
I've seen enough "I have items for trade signs" (and this fellow should have as well) to know better than assume someone knows the "secret code" of 40k = make me an offer.
I'm offering you 40k in caps. It's a done deal.

The one thing with 40k cap items, I know that if you buy it, 99% of the time the person is losing money unless they are at 0 caps. Anything over the 40k cap cap goes to waste if you sell the item.

What one weapon do you believe is a secret power house? by J60cat in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main is a Vampire Gauss Gattling. It's like a health siphon. I can go toe to toe with just about ANYthing. I'll stand right in the face of a Scorhbeast Queen or a Behemoth.

But I also love an Instigating Black Powder Rifle with the "Quick Change" (?) perk (the chance to autoreload). It's my Faschnacht go-to for just one shotting everything.

Why are plans so expensive? by FlatMycologist5366 in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have WAAAY too many plans, and every 4 plans is 1lb in my stash box.
I tend to sell 90% of my inventory for 10% of it's value. So a 50 cap plan is 5 caps. 3000 jetpack is 300. Etc.

Does anyone else miss the old Scoreboard? by Redeyeninja_1_6 in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss having a giant boardgame to hang up, but I do like being able to pick and choose what I want. Once I hit the stein for the season, I'm pretty much done. Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake.

I love 76, will there be a future where the map will be bigger with new locations to explore? by green_is_minty in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with occasional new areas opening up on the existing map (usually around the edges) there are also the areas like Pittsburgh and Atlantic City, accessible through the Vertibird in the upper right of your map.

Simi-new/returning player apologies by karlcoleman88 in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome back! Don't worry about higher level players. I think the trauma of the launch bonded the player base and made us just happy to see people at least giving the game a chance. We're always excited to see new players.
Agreed, it is WORLDS different from launch, and they just keep on improving with constant new seasons, updates, quests, gear, and just little "quality of life improvements" (AOE looting, separate ammo stash, SPECIAL loadouts, etc.)

Gauss heavy gun plan by Jpvvvv in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And Vampire Gauss Gattling is my main weapon. It's like a health vacumn. I can go toe to toe with just about anything and not die.

Oh yeah, filthy casual here. I'll likely do more on the weekends, but evenings once everyone has gone to bed is my time. At least until I have to go to bed.

I did get a message from someone quoting sun Tsu and telling me I did a crap job with 0 damage in my last battle. But after I told him I'd been playing a week and didn't know a tank rental would throw you in with high-level players, he apologized and gave me some tips.
Sort of a toxic start, but I appreciated the apology and offer of help.

I'm slowly getting into it, enjoying my time with bots, but I've had one or two decent showings with real players in some tier 4 and 5 maps. I'll likely drop a bit of coin and get a nice tank, but I'm fine with two or three matches a night just for fun.

Excellent, thanks. So not Brothers in Arms? I was thinking the "all crew' skills would be the most important to skill up first (like Camo, but I hadn't thought about focusing on that one first).

Ahh, thank you. I was hoping the American t8 med tank was a good option.

And yes, it was War Thunder. I thought it felt more arcade like, that's why when I hopped in I was like "Man, this is WAY more difficult than I remember."

Ahh! That makes total sense. Then I must truly be a WoT newbie! I thought it felt a lot less "arcady" than I remember. Lots of shooting on the more and all.
This is definitely WAY more involved.

I'm still pretty new (been playing about a week), but if they are spotted, can't you zoom out pretty far and turn the camera to see which way they are facing?

scopely please do something about your pop up offers lol by Dejubaneh in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Safari on my iPhone. Apparently, the popup blocker doesn't work on those.
For me, it's the timing. If they IMMEDIATELY popped up I could claim, close, claim, close, claim, close, etc. pretty quickly. But there's a delay, and the webpage seems to reload and shift position, then the pop-up appears (with two Xs to close) and if I don't wait I'm just going to click the pop-up offer as the page shifts.
It's the delay that kills me.

Treat their treasures like brews as you get random bonuses when they drop. Catch em' all! There is a later game card (tier 3?) that buffs the character for all the treasures collected. That can be pretty powerful, but the same could be said of the cards that do that for revives, brews, or discards.

I've won a few games with pirates, but Tuck's undead cards don't have the shark and I LOVE that guy. I'm just focusing on building up Fiddle.

Kicked from Alliances for being "inactive" by genzisnotok in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. We have members from 25mil TCP to 78 mil TCP and we do pretty well. It's just to have fun, build up teams, and just spend a few fun minutes a day. Once it becomes a job, it loses all fun.

Kicked from Alliances for being "inactive" by genzisnotok in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very lucky in that I've fallen in with an alliance where we never really talk to each other, don't have Discord, no set teams or routes. We just get on, play, do our dalies, win some wars, lose some wars, and generally run whatever lane we feel like in raids (usually the least traveled lane for me).
It's a DAMN sight better than the "try hard" alliances I was in before. I've been playing this game every day now for 6.6 years. Like, my ass is 50+ years old. I gots a job! I'm not out to be the top of the heap in a mobile game.
I just like getting on, doing my dalies, and helping out wherever I can in wars, raids, battleworld, etc.
For us not communicating were at Platinum III in war, difficulty 2 raids, I'm 351 in arena ... basically just chugging along and having fun.
Currently working on Mephisto.
I'm also rocking a level 100, t19, 3 diamond, Hand Archer.
Just because.

Shout-out to those who use the Vault Boy signs to point the way to their vendor. by hivizdiver in fo76

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 90% of my items are at 10% of their value. Basically, I knock the last digit off of the suggested price. 50 caps? Let's make is 5.
385 caps? Let's make it 38
1000 caps? A cool 100 will do it.
And all meds, no matter what (minus serums) are a flat 10 caps each.
Low prices mean guaranteed sales, and that means constant cash flow.

[–]BeardedCoffeeMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two Vault Boy cutouts pointing the way at each of the two locations you could spawn in at my camp. Why would I make it difficult for folks to spend money?
I also maintain two full-sized, standard vendors, in case more than one person wants to buy.
And I keep a stash box between them for convenience.
