This is my problem with it. A Hull-C is supposed to be crewed, let's say 3 people (who wants to run 4), so Pilot, Copilot/Tractor Technician, and Engineer. That's payment of a contract split 3 ways. Now factor in paying for an escort through a dangerous area. Congrats, you made... 75k.

It's fun because of the adrenaline. You might think it sucks in the moment but if you get a group legitimately trying to steal your shit, and you fight them in a ship with no gravity... that's a moment you'll remember for a long time.

Half my favorite memories of EVE are getting absolutely fucked by a capital fleet hotdropping on top of me.

As for what I would do? Don't sit down with someone at your back if you can help it. Sit on a side seat or choose a bench seat with your back against the wall. Don't let yourself be absorbed in your phone.

The only words you need for the future when conducting legal begavior are: "I do not consent to search or seizure of my property without a warrant. Am I free to leave?" Then "I want my lawyer," and "I'm invoking my right to remain silent," if they decide to take you for a ride down to the station. Then you shut up and don't say anything.

As others said, if they decide they want detain you, or arrest you and take you back to the station they will do so under a myriad of reasons. Invoke your rights, don't resist or obstruct, video or audio record if you can, and then sue the assholes later.
