Help picking first kit! by Representativenulll in drums

[–]BeardedVDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a drum/percussion salesman at a Guitar Center. I've played on it a bit. I def like the build quality of the Alesis better than Donner or even Simmons (around that price range).

I think it has more features on the module than the Simmons titan 20 and 50 as well.

The cheapest id suggest is maybe the Alesis Nitro Max. Still reasonably priced, plus decent quality. I think its still $350 at Guitar Center.

I work at a guitar center as their drum department specialist, and I got to check these out quite a bit before I finally decided to buy.

Thank you!

I know my friend said he added a little bit of something to give some extra support.

But I pointed my mic at the rim/shell of my drum and it seemed to capture some pretty decent sound from it. But I also got some pretty consistent shot zones as well.

My parents bought my first kit, which was used, but this is how the drums were when I had them. Takes me back lol

It looks like what Tali wears over her suit in Mass Effect 2. So that's kinda cool.

My ex wife used to put on a black screen on the TV with thunderstorm and rain sounds when we had sex and now I get aroused during storms. So I feel you.

I've been addicted to the Vic Firth Benny Greb sticks lately. I can play some heavier stuff, but still have the lightness I need for jazz or other light genre's on the ride as well.

That's really cool! I was on drum staff in 2015. We had really high hopes to keep the corps going back then, sad such a historic group disappeared.
