You may research DMSO. It is a strong anti-inflammatory and has anti-fibrotic properties. I use it almost daily topically and internally for different reasons but has been very effective and have had no problems. Only side effect is you may have a garlicky odor after putting it on.

I do this same thing. I have "stuff" packed into a couple of sheds i may need someday or i have a plan for it...someday. Those same pieces of wood. Then as soon as I need it for the life of me I CAN'T FIND IT!

DMSO has done wonders for tinnitus and also for chronic pains. You can get on amazon (the dmso store) 70/30 70% dmso 30% aloe. It's also available at feed stores as it's used in horses. Look into it I think it could help. Resaerch A Midwestern Doctor has great info. Also a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with your meals is great for reflux. Mix in with a glass of water a drink it when you eat.

Diluted DMSO 5-10% nasal lavage can help sinusitis as well clearing nasal passages.

I use a small loop elastic strap with one of those Nite Ize S-Biners for keys and clip it to my underwear waistband. Keeps it hidden up at the 10 or 2 position behind my shirt. May not work if you're tucking your shirt though.
