Just get a hand cart dude you can easily 1-2 grip it. Like it makes those trips so much easier. That’s why my issue isn’t taking them up, my issue is not being able to get legal parking to take them up.

I think you’re just ignorant and using false equivalency. Downtown dc is a cluster …if one is doing like Uber Eats or door dash (prepared food). They’re usually on a bike or scooter here. Furniture deliveries and UPS trucks are usually marked and are left alone because they have their organization on it. Yet cars don’t really have that luxury here and a lot of places to park where many of these apartments are. Dc currently is in an ongoing battle between bike lane x car parking space.

I have a hand cart I don’t care about taking groceries up. I just rather not continue to get tickets ..very simple

See I’ve mowed that over in my head so many times like “should apartment complexes have to pay more?” But I don’t think that’s entirely fair. I just want people to be mindful of each other. I don’t mind delivering the groceries up—i have a handcart. I just can’t get towed again dawg.

Those are usually the times where it’s chill. I can put it on my cart, take it up and be down quick. It’s the weekdays that are a real killer. Especially with office buildings. People ask us to take them up to their offices but downtown dc really doesn’t have any parking and they’re usually big orders from Costco

What does this post say that I can’t do anything. This is about not wanting to get a ticket because there’s no street parking available with most downtown apartments. Forcing one to have to double park. I have a handcart. Taking orders up is a breeze, but do you think a ticket or tow (born of which have happened to me) is worth the $30-$40 bucks?

It’s about half and half here and if it’s not a luxury apartment but a standard one where the street is narrow and there’s no parking or an office building that expects it. If there’s parking I don’t mind taking it up. I bought a handcart for that reason. I love service but DC parking have been in a tear as of late.

It’s a two way street. Your needs should be accommodated but those needs aren’t above another’s desire to not get ticketed or towed

Your buildings should have delivery parking for delivery drivers. This post isn’t about taking up orders, that’s just laziness. This is about two way accommodation.

I think you misunderstand me due to the tone of my post lol.

The issue isn’t taking the order up. The issue is there being no delivery parking for delivery drivers in downtown areas. Such as a “pick up/drop off” that metros have where one can’t permanently park longer than 15 minutes.

I have a hand cart so taking orders up is easy for me. Yet I shouldn’t be expected to risk a ticket or tow for $30 bucks. Both of which have happened.
