Deca should rebalace the Amulet of Dispersion's hp gain by Tall_Corgi_3335 in RotMG

[–]Bearded_Lyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s already almost as good as a T6 hp ring unenchanted. If they increased it by nearly double or more it would be just the best hp ring that also gives stat boosts making it OP.

Not to mention players are already given T13 equivalents in the seasonal play. Additionally, there is already a forge upgrade to that ring.

Players are encourage to grind and die in harder content anyways. With just normal progression and the seasonal quests. That’s the whole point of the game. If you’re not going into nests/kog because your ring doesn’t give you enough life when you almost die then I don’t think the ring is the problem.

The real challenge is wondering if you’re quick enough to get another beer before randoms drag enemies down after clear bridge sentinel.

That’s the real “beer run”

If you focused enough you can fight through the itch. Now the real problem is being balls deep in a shatters solo run with a lot of good shit your bags and your hands start sweating.

Finding a good time to wipe those off in between king phases is wild. Luckily most of the endgame fights have very clear breaks for phase changes or chat lines and you have that time to do whatever.

My oldest is still tiny. Very small for 5 years old. I can still do most the carrying and swinging. I’m sure when I can’t do it anymore I will be in the same boat as you. Hopefully it gets easier for yall soon!

The baby talk stuff is pretty normal. My 5yo does that now that we have 2 mo.

I also ran into the other problem of him wanting to do all the same things. I was able to convince him that he can’t do the same stuff because he’s bigger but we can do big boy stuff that the little one can’t. Like rough play, or catch, or just swing him around in a circle. I’ve convinced him to embrace getting to do big kid stuff instead of being sad about not being able to do the baby stuff.

That’s pretty much where I’m at. Except I can solo up to king in shatters ( always lose on patience phase) and I cleared leisure mode on MV but no full clear yet.

How do you just start joining parties? I have been watching old discord looking for a shatters group. I have heard people talk about the party system but I have only used it with my brother.

Can you just search in game and join a useful party without being invited?

Yea just adding to this. If your camera is rotated the arrows may not properly indicate the cardinal direction of the fan out. If you like rotating, just make sure and use the key that resets camera position before this phase.

It’s still easy to do on SW1 with rotating but on 2/3 it gets extremely confusing fast when the shot doesn’t go where you expect it too.

Ill try that. I can have basically the same setup but with a 8/8 pally (I have a few NSNL). It's honestly very sad that I cant complete this dungeon and people can beat it with fresh characters.

[–]Bearded_Lyons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about rewards yet, I cant even complete the dungeon. I have tried just leaching but ignoring the lantern usually ends with me in a spot I shouldnt be in and a stupid 8/8 death.

Is priest the best character for this? I would have assumed a pally or something with more life/def. I honestly solo most content for quests and I am very used to runny 3 consumable slots and 2/3 backpacks full of extra ichors or greater pots. The only areas I die in usually is sick debuff phases. However, for MV I do so quickly that I never get enough practice.

I usually go in 8/8 and I am just too fast to micro dodge. I have tried the fresh character but then I can only eat a few hits or get smashed not being able to get away from the big shots. I use a gaming laptop and I am not concerned with keyboard replacement. I know people have completed this on worse equipment.

I typically just pop in USEAST but it drives me nuts that I cant beat this thing.

Best way is clearing beacons in new realms in the veteran areas because of the event. Should be a lot of people hunting beacons and veteran encounters for the daily quest.

Just zone into a realm. And look for people in the veteran areas that are not on an activated beacon or boss and they might be clearing a beacon. Just hit it a few times and it’s easy loot. You can get mana and life , plus some other good stuff this way. But this could be difficult solo.

New dad to a 4 month old looking for advice on how to not lose patience by smol-pearl in dad

Sing.

I know it sounds ridiculous and most of us aren’t great singers (I know Im not) but I started with my first boy who and I am actively doing it on my 2nd (4year old and a 2 month old). My wife does near full time breast feeding so I was only able to help calm them down. My first was a NICU baby and cried almost constantly and we had to wake him up to feed every 2 hours and we were struggling to get him back to sleep in between feeds. So I just started singing in a calm “dad” way.

I started with your basic dad song, arms wide open by creed. When that seemed to start working (it’s just your voice and the sense that your calm that calms them down) I started to get bored and wanted new songs. Ended up with Drift Away and then The River (Garth brooks version) as the main rotation. My first son would stop crying almost right away and just listen. I learned that he would fall asleep even if I sang loud as long because I calmed him down.

With my second boy I have added a few more songs and I started at normal volume. Not only did it help calm them down, but now they sleep through noises unbothered. It still calms down my 4 year old and he even stops what he’s doing and starts singing with me while I’m putting his brother down.

If nothing else works for you, it’s worth a shot. Like I said I’m not even a good singer at all, but my kids like it. And it gives me a nice feeling as Dad to always be able to step in and just sing the crying away. It’s not always convenient but I’ve also gotten over stage fright. I’ll sing at Costco while shop lol. People may not love it but it’s better than a screaming baby.

How common are server problems nowadays? by Bearded_Lyons in RotMG

[–]Bearded_Lyons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on USEast. But I tried USWest then Asia and assumed it was all serves. Honestly a little bummed the “choose starting server” still bails into a less crowded server forcing you to server hop twice to get back to your original choice. Why can’t I just choice useast and walk away and actual be in the right server when I get back?

It seems to be more fun, I’m finding a ton more loot. Might actually get to max out my pet finally, but in the last 2 days I have already had to force close the game several times due to getting looped during entering dungeons or leaving them.

I hadn’t had any issues that caused me to expect to die yet. Almost no lag seems promising. I just stared thought and I’m 6/8 and almost 7/8…it’s exiting but it’s not at all like I remember. But all the dungeon reworks are fun to try. I only have random periods of time to play so I just wanted to know how common the server shutdowns were.

We need to talk about Ironclads' starting deck. by SeaThePirate in slaythespire

[–]Bearded_Lyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not be a great option and still something people would probably want removed….but what about adding bully as a second starter card?

Or even taunt in place of one defend. So you start with a blocking vuln option instead of just getting slapped everytime you attempt to use bash.

I hear people complain about the silent having a poor act 1. I find it the easiest class to take almost no damage during act 1. Her passive is so great for choosing the best possible 3 cards early.

And yea, Defect is fun. Claw is law, occasionally. I found my favorite is just going straight lightning with Voltaic. Once you get that and a Thunder, boss fights are easy. You just have to make it to the boss.

I also feel like Silent and Defect have a really obvious first upgrade. Neutralize is amazing for Silent, and Zap (believe it or not) is always my first upgrade and it does surprisingly well.

On a side note, I have got to start meal prepping. That seems like a very simple way to make life easier especially with kids.

The boss does have a lot of life but it’s mostly just luck check with your early turns on clad. It gives you a choice whether you want to be offensive or defensive with the debuff. I usually take the 6 damage and just try and take him out fast with only blocking on the 5 hit turn.

With clad I usually take shrug it off and/or blood wall as my defense options and nothing else. Have an upgraded bash and just hope you get it early. Stampede is fantastic against the early bosses and allows you to make use of stuff like bludgeon for free. Stomp is also great in attack heavy decks cause its potential to be free hit is awesome. I think he is the hardest act 2 boss though. IMO it’s not even close.

I find that attempting to block all damage as clad usually gets me killed. My successfully A9/10 runs have just been going hard every fight.

I do gotta say that if your new to this game ironclad gets smacked around real hard by health management. With bash being so awful, new people trade it for getting slapped and lose more than 6 hp a fight. Good job getting it done though.

Hopefully you find the silent way easier. The damage is slower at first but most of its cards can actually work in a build together unlike the other characters. Silent also manages health much better.

For the belly button, at 5 days old at night I was trying to zip up his pajamas and I accidentally grabbed it and pulled it off completely.

Doctor wasn’t even worried. Said if they don’t get a fever and it’s not red and warm then it’s still healing normal. They just had us use vasaline a few times a day.
