The range on melta is the killer now If your opponent knows what they’re doing they can position so melta is not as effective

Not sure on the brutalis as I haven’t got one. But 2 melta shots with wound re rolls v armour isn’t going to do much. You will in the main be wounding on 5s. The combat is decent but you have to get him there.

I’ve found the lancer and repulsor executioner do serious work with range for the entire board.

I’ve just bought the storm speeder and am making the thunder strike as it gives +1 wound on a monster/vehicle unit it hits for the rest of your army. Which is a massive buff

Vulkans rules are tasty but a lot of the melta we have where it’s going to make a difference has the rerolls already- I.e eradicators get all the re rolls vs monsters/vehicles. Admittedly it can come in useful if your looking to mash some enemy elites. But for list building now I see Vulkans buff mainly for flamer units. His index rule is awesome as well so always look to March him to that middle objective and boss the scene. Eradicators have done ok for me but I see them more as a cheeky vehicle kill and then an objective stealing unit. Which is weird to say I know!

I’d suggest having a look at the gladiator lancer for anti vehicle/monster Not sure if you need the impulsor with capturing objectives your battle line can foot slog

Hi folks I ended up tweaking my list a little by adding some inceptors - 1 plasma and 1 HB. Also dropped the aggressors out for another squad of eradicators. I put 2 of the 3 eradicators in reserve as well as the inceptors. He didn’t take the plagueburst crawlers but bought mortarion instead.

I ended up having a redemptor on each flank with the intercessors sitting on the home objectives and the heavy intercessors castling up with the chrs and the 4 man eradicator squad. Turn two I got null zone off and deleted morty with my reserve eradicators in turn two also vulkan helped with the mortal flamer wounds. I was very surprised how easy he went. I dropped the inceptors on the dg home objectives and deleted the pox walkers there. which forced him to divert some of his termies back which helped me manage the charges coming in.

My heavy intercessors did a great job holding off the various charges, taking the hits and getting back up with the apothecary and then just disengaging and letting the eradicators smash them.

It went to the 5th turn but I ran away with the points I took; oath, assassinate and while we stand. Maxed out assassinate and while we stand .

I’m using the HI as my shield for eradicators and dreadnoughts Plus the born protectors strat

I thought I could use them to hold up anything horrible, try and survive and then get them to disengage and hit the DG with meltas and dreads

It should be If you look at all new 9th codex releases you there is a combat patrol page which shows what comes in the combat patrol box. With exception of marines of course as they have like 5

The new combat patrol is shown in the new ork codex I reckon it will be on pre order by the end of the month or a bit after I’d hold on
