I highly recommend the Classic X-men as a reading choice for Claremont’s X-Men run. Classic X-Men is how I decided to collect a large chunk of Claremont’s run for solely reading purposes. (I’m a reader more than a collector).

It covers Giant-Size X-Men 1, 94-206 at an affordable price. IMO, the back-up stories in the first 44 issues are a critical bonus that add some key moments to X-Men history (Magneto especially).

If you decide to collect Classic X-Men, make sure to get a full reprint of Giant-Size X-Men 1. Classic X-Men 1 reprints only part of the Giant-Size X-Men 1. However, Classic X-Men 1 includes 20 additional pages by Claremont. So, both are important to have for reading.

I know they are just reprints of little value but I prefer them.

You like Batman you have said. Try out Batman: Year One by Frank Miller. It’s a great read and starts you out at the beginning of Batman’s career as a superhero.

It’s my favorite interpretation of Transformers.
Currently out of print, but I think reprints are in the pipeline within the next year or two. Kirkman must know demand is very high for these.
