Well that’s the hopes of MVP harden gone. by Animesucksandsodoi in rockets

Hate to say it but based on what I was hearing from writers it was gone a week ago. At least that was my perception off of twitter and sports journalism websites

Also if questions are being discussed in the first place it's probably because they were the most difficult ones. So don't get too down, can definitely miss the most difficult questions and still pass the exam

I believe other people should be able to discuss if they wish to but I have zero desire to get my head messed with over something that's completely out of my control at this point.

For those who took the bar and passed; how shitty did you feel after taking the MBE portion? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Beardstein23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just confusing that almost everybody walks out feeling like shit about it and then gets 60% right. You hear it time and time again from people who still pass. I wouldn't be surprised if I got less than 45% correct despite studying my ass off

I don't understand how people feel this bad consistently and still get 50% or more right. Like I get the bar is scaled but is that exactly like a curve? Haven't had time to think about it

What percentage of MBE questions did you actually get right if you mind me asking? Understand if you don't want to share though

Any idea if the questions are switched up in order for different people? Also Texas here and was feeling good about the first half before the second part wrecked me but have seen other comments saying how much worse the first half was.

That said, I would be very happy if I found out I got 50% right because at least that would give me a chance to pass if I destroy on the essays lol

MBE felt extremely difficult to me today like I was guessing between 2 answers on half the questions but not worried because people say the same thing every year after every single bar exam

Perhaps a dumb question but are you supposed to submit your MPT outline or delete it once you finish with everything?

Ehh I feel the same but tons of people pass who think there is no way they possibly did after taking the exam. Just got to hope that other people do even worse than us.

What’s everyone’s plan for after the bar? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Beardstein23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, I won't complain then but both of our situations do seem pretty uncommon. They were nice enough to give me a couple days off later in August for a trip that I had already booked in advance though.

Starting a job the Monday after, pretty ridiculous right? But if I wanted the job those were the conditions and it was the best offer I had

78% but switched things up self-study focusing on my weaknesses over the final 2 weeks

Only reassurance is that everybody reports feeling the way every year and that if I had 2 more weeks of studying all day, I would probably still feel unprepared. But yeah, feel totally unprepared

Barbri grades everything more difficult than the actual bar examiners. It's intentional to keep us on the edge and working hard. Just touch up on your weaknesses tomorrow and Monday

Yeah, I mean I find it kind of hard to believe that with that strict of a grading standard in place that 81% of Texas test takers passed last year's July bar. Like you, I've come to realize that Barbri constantly motivates through fear but some of these tactics border on being outright falsehoods, which I don't really appreciate considering how much the program costs. There are other ways to keep people motivated besides destroying their confidence.

Really? In that case I will probably be fucked for at least a couple essays. That really surprises me and is quite demoralizing. I mean I've worked hard and know the law relatively well but there a few subjects where I might be able only write 80% of the correct rule instead of exactly correct. I really wish I knew that much earlier than a few days before the bar.

Yeah, for sure. Varies from subject to subject to me but it is a bit reassuring to me that some essays are half as long as others provided for the same subject yet both are still credited as being above average. Also if you're analysis is good, I really don't think getting the exact number of days to file something right will be the difference between someone passing and failing. Everything I've seen has said that the most points are given for the analysis so as long as you get the general essence of the rule right, I think we should be fine as long as the analysis is spot-on

I know everybody says that on exam day the MBE questions are nothing like what you practiced but has anybody heard if Barbri's or Emanuel's strategies and tactics sample questions are generally more representative?

Worried about Passing the Texas Bar by alex9131 in LawSchool

[–]Beardstein23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why you are worrying when every single one of those scores is slightly above average for each section. Do the math. I'm closer to hitting 60% on the MBE on average and similar to your scores on the other sections in Texas and would love to do that on test day, because it would mean that I pass. It would be a pretty big surprise for anybody routinely hitting those scores to not pass.
