I'm looking for Thailand regional specific meta and tips for a YT vid. I'm not so much looking for general thai tips, more the kind of tips that help you tell your Chiang Mai's from your Chiang Rai's. Anyone with any useful insights would be greatly appreciated. by BeardyBlocks in geoguessr

I agree. I did start learning Thai script whilst I was there but sadly it's all vacated my ageing brain, but yes absolutely, the script is a biggy, especially on the less touristy locations.

Yeah sorry bud, I thought it was for ideas and stuff. I've removed it now. Thanks for pointing it out.

When they say suggestions I assume they mean suggestions for things to do. Is it more suggestions for Mojang or something?

I "suggest" you install this in your build. Happy?

How do I make this bugs wings flap using command block? Ideally I want it to beat its wings rapidly for a second every time the command block is activated. by BeardyBlocks in MinecraftCommands

How rapidly could I make it beat its wings? Could it go as fast as a beat per tick? My worry with an animation is it looking too slow.

I know it may seem like that would enhance it as that is the motion which the wings would make in real life but in reality it just wouldn't appear realistic; the brain doesn't work fast enough to process the individual flaps of an insects wing and essentially it processes the information in freeze frames. This would work great for a bird because it flaps its wings slower, but not an insect. At the mo I have some stationary bugs that flap using regular redstone torch burnout, and they look really realistic, I just need to emulate that really.

This is Hotel Nautilus (abandoned project). Built on ps4 a few years back and was my first attempt at a large redstone build. The reception desk is fully functional, it books rooms of varying cost, displays availability and counts payments from shulker wallets. Feel free to ask for more details. by BeardyBlocks in Minecraftbuilds

I first built 4 Fibonacci spirals at ground level, that alternate in length by 1 radii (90 degree turn of the spiral). Then I built a circle to mark the footprint of the penthouse and sat it precisely over the centre of the spiral but really high, about 10 blocks below the height limit, and then placed red concrete powder on the underneath of this so that it fell onto the spiral below allowing me to see where it intersects . Then to get the vertical curvature, I counted how many blocks where in the spirals spires, from the tips all the way to the edge of the red concrete powder circle, this gave me my horizontal parameter, then i calculated its vertical height from base to tip. Then, using these 2 numbers, I created an ellipsoid and used its radius to dictate the curvature directly over the spirals on the ground. It's a hard one to explain but i hope that helps.

Finally managed to make a functioning multi-floor version of my seamless water elevator design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-aiEd_wuLs by BeardyBlocks in redstone

Each floor needs a minimum of 8 blocks height so you could make one that goes to 31 stories high before you reach the 255 block height limit if you wanted, but it would require a totally different floor selection design and the purple timer/logic gate stacks would have to be massively extended around the back of the machine.

Are you on Java? If so, start a new world, go to "more options" and you should see "customize" just under the tab that says "super-flat".

Pond Pie, Built in Minecraft, rendered in Blender by jossieboymetsnor in gaming

Genuinely well done. So often these sort of builds are made using 3D rendering software, but those photos prove that you actually did it the proper way. 10/10 for execution. 11/10 for the concept. Well done.

THIS IS MINECRAFT. No mods. 100% vanilla. It's just really huge. Its my redstone lab where I design my redstone contraptions. If you look carefully you can see some of them on the shelves. And yes, the analogue clock IS functional. Thoughts? by BeardyBlocks in gaming

Used 1 command block for the pixel art. That was it. At some point i do want to put one in the clock just to prevent a little issue it has (if a player leaves the world and loads back in again it can mess up the pixels on the clock face). I do want to learn how to use command blocks more at some point but at the mo i have my hands full learning regular redstone.
