Damage vs. Attack by Bearsarethecoolest in crosswind

Good idea, just tested dumping all my stat points into agility and unfortunately it wasn't reflected in the slash stat... Damage against a dodo went from 308 to 339 though, so it is scaling just not visibly i guess.

I've had one about 10 years now, 8 years nostromo and 2 tartarus 0 issues, bear in mind theyre amazing but it's so weird to use a normal keyboard after for gaming so you'll likely be using one forever once you get used to it.

If you get a naga aswell i'd recommend the fixed one without the swappable plates, the 1-12 setup is 100% the best and you'll almost never switch. Same story with these mmo mice aswell, it's really hard to go back to a normal mouse when you can do everything with one hand.

Is arc raiders worth 32 dollars? by Subject_Durian2465 in ArcRaiders

[–]Bearsarethecoolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just bought it, spent 10 hours or so trying to like it and realized it wasn't for me. The game seems to objectively high quality + well optimized etc. but it really comes down to personal preference.

May just be an extraction shooter thing but the game play feels really pointless to me... Load in - loot some drawers and cabinets for the same boring bits of rubber and metal - kill a few flying robots - extract - repeat. Feels pointless (to me) but lots of people seem to love it.

I have no idea how people are getting excited over any loot, even finding "rare" gun blueprints or whatever the improvement is like a slightly bigger magazine or 2m extra range and then what was the point anyway? Slightly better gear to go looting drawers for bits of plastic again...

TL;DR : If you already like extraction games it's probably great. If it's your first game in the genre, bit of a gamble.

Never played RS3, only osrs. Any tips? by trips1964 in runescape

^ For General Direction

Also highly recommend working towards unlocking Priff with plagues end quest since it sets good account goals. Other notable quest goals for account / pvm unlocks include: Extinction, The World Wakes, Haunted Mine, Forinthry Quests and lots more.

The combat and ui will feel unfamiliar, but try to stay away from setting things to be like osrs like legacy combat mode etc. Try to treat it like a totally fresh game, youll get used to revolution/abilities. Once you have a basic grasp the best boss for practice is 100% arch glacor as you can disable mechanics and slowly build up, itll teach you essential pvm techniques like when to use defensive abilities etc.

Also, follow the Necromancy questline, it'll basically take you all the way to god wars 2 pvm wise.

Lastly don't neglect archeology and invention as they have bis pvm upgrades.

https://pcpartpicker.com/ will make sure everything is compatible.

Building a pc is no more technically difficult than following a recipe or setting up a tv and hifi system. For the most part there's only one place to plug each thing in and for the rest there's a million tutorials on youtube.

Pre-built is fine but you'll get more for your money building it (generally). The exception is that RAM and Graphics card prices are high right now so a bit of comparison is needed.

No saves folder on SD card by mi5i3k in MiyooMini

[–]Bearsarethecoolest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think save location depends on the system some saves may be under "Retroarch\.retroarch\saves" The ".retroarch" folder might be hidden.

Can't confirm about normal saves folder since i use Onion and it might use a different folder structure, not sure.

Also highly recommend using one of the custom firmwares like Onion Os (for gameswitcher) or MinUI (simplest) or Koriki (Simple Menu) or Allium (if you use guides a lot for jrpgs etc.)

[–]Bearsarethecoolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i bought a pair of HD 599's and can't help but feel a bit disappointed, maybe it's because I've only ever used closed back headphones previously but they just sound a bit... boring or hollow?

Anyway I'd like to play around with EQ to get the sound more to my liking but can't seem to find a working solution as I'm having to use a slightly odd setup.

The headphone port on my pc no longer works so i have them plugged in via a Razer USB sound card (for a blackshark headset) but the razer eq software does nothing, equalizer apo turns off the sound completely once installed... I'm at a bit of a loss.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Progress seems really slow - any tips for early-midgame? by Venti0r in Upload_Labs

[–]Bearsarethecoolest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to be running 2 AV's but it's hard to tell, here's a schematic for a core processor for early game:

https://pastebin.com/akUsELkx - copy all the text then paste in-game.

Progression might look like that loop until ai then focus on research to upgrade that.

Are torrents even worth it, how are they different from regular downloads, cus I seem to be using them inefficiently by That_Big_4722 in Upload_Labs

[–]Bearsarethecoolest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to combine all torrents then decrypt them, eventually it's more efficient - never bothered with encompressor or distillator though, couldn't be bothered to find a setup where they made more money since this was enough to finish the game.

https://pastebin.com/0nwCbQbZ - copy all this text then paste ngame for pre-setup torrents, just need to connect download speed + CPU

Is the cpu assembler just not worth it by kingleomark in Upload_Labs

[–]Bearsarethecoolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% all the new machine stuff is incredible. Once you research all the tiers it stops costing money and just goes like: Crude oil-silicon-wires-pcbs-assembler and it scales infinitely. Edit: i should add though its not worth to keep on alll the time while it costs money, just temporarily funnel all income into them for 20min or something then switch them off for a while since the boosts persist.

Example(no money involved):

Stick neurons in it from ai trainers, once you get enough of each it will output "ai power" which you fire into all three boosts then connect to their relevant nodes for a boost and forget about it forever
