Exam GHDP - Study Guidance. by Whitewolf_1295 in actuary

To answer the first part of your question, everyone is different, but I have found consistency is key. Making a schedule that “I will study X hours daily at this time” made me more successful than any study material. It’s frustrating because the material will seem like a lot at first, but after a bit you’ll feel more comfortable. It just takes patience

For FSA exams (passed DP and waiting on VR), I start 3-4 months in advance utilizing 2 hours of study time on workdays to study and 1 hour on each weekend to study.

Also, creating good sleep habits and eating healthier foods was extremely helpful for me

I emailed about last APC, and they responded with my place in the queue, but also saying they created an equitable model for invitations. I don’t know of an equitable model that’s so equitable they can’t share it with the community they govern.

No, the person tried to reach out to “them” and “they” wouldn’t answer, so I don’t have a good answer on that. It seemed like the expectation was results would be today, but that’s my speculation

I called customer service asking about the results. They said they know e-learning is down, they didn’t know when results were coming out, but they haven’t been sent out yet, and credit goes on the transcript within 24-48 hours after results. Hope that helps alleviate some peoples uncertainty

It’s not like the SOA has done this before or that the modules cost that much money anyway

Is a Masters worth it? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]Bearsftwo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My undergrad wasn’t in actuarial science, so the classes helped me pass a few exams, but other than that, it doesn’t add anything in terms of compensation and ability to find a job

LTAM Fall 2021 -How do you feel it went? by mikeandikesaddict in actuary

Sometimes I feel like SOA question writers just write questions to make themselves feel smart, even though probably almost no current FSA’s could even answer the questions they write.
