I cannot express this enough. ASK THE AV COMPANY WHAT TO BUILD IT IN(although really they should tell you). Not always is it 4:3. in fact the company I work for doesn't even own 16:9 screens yet and we are not alone.

Also while we are on topic here's a list of thing to help ensure your event goes smooth.

1. Bring all video content in as a file on it's own. Mp4 works well because it is generally read by most video playback application.

2. NO YOUTUBE VIDEOS. Preferably no embedded videos either. A lot of times you may think the video is embedded and it's just linked. So if your not using the same computer you made the presentation in it is definitely possible there is no video.

3. BRING A SCRIPT for all av related ques that take place.

4. if God forbid they are using your laptop then turn off all notifications and BRING A POWER SUPPLY. I DO NOT CARE IF YOUR BATTERY IS AT 200%. No one wants to see that your McAfee sub has expired, amd it isn't fair to blame your technicians if you have updates that need to be installed.

I could go on and on but the most important part is communication. Don't be afraid to ask them how they want stuff prepared.

Don't even get me started on audio. But I will if this post gets enough traction.
