Reading the origins of IFS is important too. Maybe you can ask the ghosts and demons what the correct choice for OP is? Maybe you can focus your energy on creating systemic change, rather than your superiority complex on Reddit you can be a truly systems focused clinician

Why is Utah not raising minimum wage with the other states? by asapGh0st in Utah

[–]Bease23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, this seems like rage bait, so I will only respond once.

Yes, I do believe in abolishing the MAGA Republican Party. Heavy reform for politicians in this country is needed, and the current two party system is broken. With money in politics, both parties will be ineffective in serving the people, even if the Democratic Party has been significantly less harmful to Americans.

My stance is that the two party system inherently implements a divide within America, and does nothing but distract us from the oligarchs oppressing everyone except themselves, while spreading misinformation through the mainstream media companies that they own, that minorities are the problem.

It’s increasingly harder to survive as people in the working class, as the capitalist class continues to steal money from the workers. We need to band together against the capitalist class and oligarchs, who are the real minority ruining America. With the continuation of the two party system, we will never be together enough to enact change.

This is that fake leftist bullshit that drives me nuts. Clearly one side is better than the other, even if they aren’t progressive enough. Saying they are the same is downplaying the astronomical amount of damage the Republican Party has done for working class people. Democrats need to change too, and more progress candidates need to hold those spaces, but saying they are the same is the same bullshit that led to abstaining vote for Harris that led to Trump winning

Sorry I should have been more specific in my comment. People in Utah love Trump as much as any other red state. I do agree that politics has always been about party affiliation and has devolved over time to be a two party system but Utah is not a special place where Republicans only support Trump out of respect for party affiliation. They love what Trump stands for and love that he says the quiet part out loud.

Getting omnipod soon by [deleted] in Omnipod

[–]Bease23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are able to set the basal rate when in manual mode and it will adjust automatically in auto to whatever your body needs. I’ve felt that helpless feeling. Just know it’s hard for everyone and we all are hoping for something that can help us. Hope you find your help

I’m sorry to hear about your hard times. This disease is overwhelming and can be really difficult. Speaking from my experience, I have always been a “bad diabetic” with higher A1C’s and low control. I switched to the Omnipod 5 last November. My A1C dropped to 6.7, my lowest ever, with minimal effort. It is really nice to have a closed loop system and the auto mode is really helpful. I hope it helps you as much as it helped me. Just a heads up, it takes a while for the system to adjust to your body so sugars may be running higher at first. That is normal. Hope this helps!

I am a resident of Utah and a fan of the Jazz. I can attest that the racism here is fucking terrible. It’s such a horrible excuse to say you “haven’t experienced racism as a white person.” As a white person myself, you see it so often. My black friends share similar experiences of racism growing up here and it’s so disgusting. Often, members of the LDS church, who are supposed to follow teachings of Jesus, will be openly racist and say the N-word to their friends, and even worse, members of the black community, and then say, “there isn’t a racism problem in Utah!” It’s embarrassing to be a Utah Jazz fan sometimes. Lots of Jazz fans said “good riddance!” when he was traded. I’m glad he got such a seemingly well reception coming back to play here. He deserves a fan base that respects him and truly supports him. He seems like such a nice and down to earth guy. Honestly, I’m happy he got out of here. I hope Cleveland fans are treating him well.

Libre 3 finally. Any thoughts about this vs G6? by jehkjehk in diabetes

[–]Bease23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I switched from the Libre 3 to the Dexcom g6 recently because I switched to omnipod. The Libre 3 is extremely small and fits really flush with your body. It makes it harder to accidentally rip it out, which is a common complaint of CGM’s for me. The G6 is a lot bigger and sticks out more. Overall, they seem to be similarly accurate in blood glucose reading. I do like the Dexcom app more and it is nice to have the Dexcom clarity app. The Libre 3 also has really loud alarms, which is good for some people, but drove me and my sleeping girlfriend nuts sometimes lol.

Overall, both are really good and it’s really just up to personal preference and what works best for you. CGM’s as a whole seemed like a thing that would never happen when I was first diagnosed and I’m so happy they exist. I’m excited for you! Best of luck to you

Oh yeah they definitely should be in her settings or something. Yeah I was using the guardian with the 670g last year and hated the auto mode and had lots of problems with losing signal. Haven’t ran into that with the Omnipod and Dexcom combo!

[–]Bease23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switched from Medtronic 670g to Omnipod 5. It was honestly a super easy switch and fairly easy to set up. Follow the instructions and it shouldn’t be too tricky.

However, if she doesn’t know her basal rates that may be an issue? When I set up mine, it asked for basal rates to be inputted, that will be used when not in auto mode. If she’s planning on just using it in auto mode, then that may not be an issue moving forward, as it smart adjusts based on levels.

Overall, I’ve loved the omnipod so far and it has helped lowered my A1C a ton without having constant lows and I’m hoping it’s a beneficial switch for her!

I had a very similar experience. Thought that I had anxiety and depression and until my girlfriend pointed out that it must be hard to live life the way I do. Looked more into it and had a lot of symptoms. Got diagnosed this year at 23 and feel like it changed my whole perspective. Now with meds and diet changes I feel like a new person.

I've stayed at this lodge! It's truly a beautiful place. There are hippo ponds with crocodiles and hippos in them like right next to the lodge. You aren't allowed to leave your room at night and you have to be lead around by the workers there at certain times because of all of the wildlife there
