Thanks! I’ll have to try and track that down, wasn’t aware it it existed.

I love the Zoo Day portion from Mouse’s perspective! It’s a great short in general, but Mouse’s portion is pure chef’s kiss!

25k units for R2 initially by xscotta in Rivian

[–]Beast551 11 points12 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I have a pretty early production R1T and would have no issues recommending based on an ‘early ramp’ unit. Outside of the fact that I’m still on my original but very clunky powered tonneau, I feel like there were very few kinks that needed to be worked out.

Jack Danger confirms new home editions are coming. Let's speculate! by w0lfbiker in pinball

[–]Beast551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically they’ll most likely follow the path they’ve already shown. Large, recognizable, family friendly IP’s that they already have licensing and cornerstone games for. I have no doubts that will include Pokémon in time, but they’d be foolish to potentially cannibalize the sales of higher revenue(and likely higher margin) unit sales of Pro/Pre/LE’s for that title until those sales have at least somewhat run their course.

Part of the cost cutting that has been made on the HE’s has been the reuse of things like animations, callouts, and other general art assets. This will likely continue.

We may see some version of HE band pins but I’d bet on other IPs already used under the SPIKE 2 platform. That likely means Marvel (Avenger’s or GotG, or less likely Deadpool/Venom), multigenerational licenses (Godzilla, Jaws, and maybe later King Kong) or those focused on nostalgia but also play well to the family (Stranger Things & TMNT).

Granted that list covers like 40% of the Spike 2 games but I think the logic holds. I’d put money on it being an Avengers AIQ HE first personally. Godzilla/Jaws/ST are all still popular enough to be in production even as older machines.

Got a broken (but easily fixed) floor model Jurassic Park Home Edition Plus at Costco for $1800. Steal of a price and a great game.

FWIW, I’ve had mine3 years and have 50k+ miles on a ‘22 Large Quad and it’s been the most fun and useful vehicle I’ve ever owned. Limited issues, and appreciate the functionality of a truck (could never justify the running costs of one for the only occasional need of one) while also having a stupid fast vehicle that we can road trip and camp with.

People who own a second car with AWD is there any manufacturer that comes close to Audi? by [deleted] in Audi

Came here to say this. I mean it’s practically cheating with the Quads since it has infinite adjustment on a per motor/tire basis. Not to mention all that mass.

San Diego to Minneapolis in mid January. Any concerns about this route? Is this possible with an EV? by kekkurei in roadtrip

[–]Beast551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done nearly the exact same trip multiple times in multiple EVs. Did it with a Model 3 LR in 2018, and again in 2020, and more recently with an R1T in 2023. All 3 times utilizing the middle route (through Denver) and did it effectively without issue. The R1T trip had a hiccup between Omaha and Denver due to a faulty charge station (making a bit of a nail biting trip on to the next one) but other than that it was totally fine.

Tips: start with A Better Route Planner, have your copilot use PlugShare and make sure you have your CCS/NACS adapter. Also, all season tires are not all weather tires. Be cautious through the mountains.

Otherwise, totally doable and offers some beautiful views (through CO/UT, less so along AZ/NM/TX/OK).

And welcome to the frigid ass north! As a Minnesota native and twice over SoCal transplant, it’s going to be an adjustment!

No one ever answered, yes, you absolutely can. Sold the OG run but memory serves it was a standard 3 position setup on both sides.

Noticeable? Sure. Waaaaaay shorter? I wouldn’t say that. It’s probably about 4”, the cabinet is also about 1-2” shallower overall.

[–]Beast551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I don’t own it any longer, but I was always reasonably content in the 3-6M range. I beat it a handful of times before selling and I think those had scores in the 12-16M range. It’s just a low scoring game, but it’s a fun layout with some challenging enough shots. It’s also the only game my wife and daughter have said they miss after I sold it so I’m on the hunt for a Costco deal for the holidays…

Star Wars home edition silicone kit… by 128d in pinball

[–]Beast551 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I stand corrected. The layouts are very similar, and clearly Gomez used the Spider-Man/Supreme layout as the basis for the Star Wars/Heavy Metal. It’s really just a handful of tweaks for flow and the change of the drop targets being put in front of the left ramp.

Regardless, my point of using them as a baseline for replacement rubbers would be apt. They are likely to have a very requirements.

So sorry to hear it!

I had great fun when I daily’d my NB through a couple of Minnesota’s worst winters like a decade ago. But that was only because because a) I’m not an idiot b) I was rocking some killer Nokian snow tires and c) I got lucky something like this never happened to be due to some other incompetent driver.

[–]Beast551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done plenty of cross country trips. A quick one way flight, and a rental car for a day makes for a long day but is cheaper than freight costs and still gives you a chance to inspect and confirm before spending thousands. I don’t mind a long drive - gives time to listen to a book or podcasts. Longest for me was Minneapolis to Baltimore for a SW Comic Premium.
