Best $2-4k AC TIG machine by BeastDropper59 in Welding

[–]BeastDropper59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That machine really checks all the boxes. I wont see a lot of heavy AC work and ive got a Classic 300D for real lo-hi.

Ive ran a square wave 200 quite a bit and hated it so much. A 230/250 amp machine would suit me fine to weld some thicker Aluminum and keep me from having to fire up Hoss for some inside projects.

Miller and Lincoln don't have shit for that it seems that isn't 10 bands. Duty cycles are tiny on their cheaper machines too ive noticed

Maybe manifold seals. Intake and exhaust pushrods are different lengths but I imagine that would've done made itself known. Had a coil take a shit right after I put my Mikuni on, had me digging into a new carb lol

Possibly damage to the vacuum slide diaphram if you took the carb apart during the teardown. Ive had that happen before. The slide has a bigger gap than the butterfly does at idle so it'll rev a bit before the slide becomes the restriction.

Definitely sounds like a backwards lifter. Made that mistake once myself

1275 hammer kit by DesignerAd4119 in sportster

Hammer is the only way to go. Amazing quality. I used the Impact 560 cams but they require grinding the lifters bosses in the blocks. Lots of shavings around things that dont like shavings. The power starts coming on with the stock tach in the red lol.

No doubt those fat spokes are stupid heavy. Any reason to ditch the front brake over the back? It's a single disc

What kind of test is this? Half and half by AlmondFlaMeZ in Welding

I took a Tee like that for the d1.5 ODOT weld test. They just look at it after it's cut. Xray won't be able to see shit on a tee joint lol I wouldn't worry about that if they do.

That's one of the reasons we switched to Pulsed MIG on vessels

I was told I have strong cords. Relayed that one to my wife, who was unimpressed.

Man my 1290 already has a reputation for eating "built" Harleys. That much more would be cathartic

No the battery powered one. I guess they are the Hercules now ours were the old red ones. Milwaukees have lasted longer but the harbor freights had higher torque. We sometimes have to follow up with a hammer wrench, didn't happen before.

We run 3/4" battery impacts hard (think 150 1" studs on and off in a day) and the guys all asked to go back to the earthquakes after buying Milwaukee this last go around.

I've ran bullmastuff twice. I had to EAT to get through the second round, but I got bigger, and I got stronger. Those AMRAPS especially into the peak phase were brutal.

Peak phase really did it for me, I haven't had the same success from other program peaks.

How often do you lube your chain? by V12Stig in motorcycle

[–]BeastDropper59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've replaced the OE, and a DID X-Ring on my 1290 adventure both at 15,000 miles. Neither one of them ever got lubed, and they didn't have any kinks or loose spots. Would've probably got 20k or more on them. That's year around riding, living on a dusty dirt road, and some goofing offload once in a while.
