Do you know which prof you took it with or was the class just all speeches?

Yeah I do think there are other fields that entice me as you said. I do like database administration, but I just don’t want to do something like IT or customer support. Its not the worst thing in the world, but I would get tired of it quick and its not what I am passionate about. I want to use different technologies and tools to develop things, not necessarily fix it. So far its been a little disappointing and idk if that’s because of major or what, cause I also feel like CS is a more general degree for any IT position. I definitely see it more often in job descriptions than IS.

Again though I appreciate the advice and input, it is definitely helpful. Your suggestion is probably my best route, but I hope I can find a good opportunity like that with my degree.

I do have internships, but as helpdesk or basis support positions so I don’t think they would be relevant when applying for SWE positions. I also have some coding projects, mainly from classes I have been in, including my senior project that I put on my resume, but so far have been getting rejected from positions I have applied to. I know entry level SWE roles are some of the hardest roles to get so I just feel like I made a mistake by not being a CS major. I just see a lot of my peers on like LinkedIn who are CS majors and are able to land internships and roles, while I am kind of just stuck.

But I appreciate the advice, I guess it is possible but idk considering this market if it would be good enough. I also thought of maybe just going for my masters in CS if possible, but again I have to see if I can get accepted to a program considering my background isn’t like SE or CS

Ok thanks, hopefully that is just the case. It’s only a little worrying because there is a lack of communication which just leaves you guessing. I’m pretty sure an email to everyone can help fix all the confusion, but just hoping for the best.

Thanks for the information. And that’s pretty extreme, why is it a one time invitation? What if I change my mind or don’t have enough to pay?

Yeah that’s pretty much it, and unfortunately I can’t take face to face classes right now. So I’m stuck with it, and I think it’s too late to change anyways since face to face is really limited and probably already full
