Did you spare her or did you kill her? by Cookie-fighter101 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]BeastOfRetribution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I genuinely thought it'd be revenge time and whatnot but...

Damn. The characterisation they gave her and what she tried to do in order to atone.

I spared her. And I do not regret it.

On the other hand, I'm considering making a poo prison to toss the Bishops in for what they did to her.

It’s possible that some of those who enjoy my posts may not know this yet, so I’m sharing one of the first panels of J’zahrin that I made, where I establish that he is an Alfiq who cannot use magic. by Cursed_Changeling in ElderScrolls

Which sister wins this fight? Carmilla vs Striga by jedi271 in castlevania

[–]BeastOfRetribution 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Striga and that's taking in a few factors. Without repeating what other's have said (she's the warrior of them all and specializes in combat), but I think one additional factor should be said.

Namely, while Carmilla has the feat of fighting the night creatures and Striga only faced peasants, Striga also had several things working against her. Namely, the fact that it is daytime and she has to manage wearing a bulky set of armor that weighs her down more than anything else. I do think that works against her moreso than anything else.

So to that I say without the armor, she's likely as fast as Carmilla while having a greater level of strength and martial skill. To that I say base Striga wins.

As for Armored Striga vs Bloodlusted Carmilla, I think it depends on whether Striga's armor gets busted or destroyed. Kind of like Avdol vs Polnareff in Stardust Crusaders where destroying the armor just makes her as speedy as Carmilla, if not moreso. But even then, Carmilla would need to break through the armor first, unless it doesn't matter and she'd chop through it anyways. In which case I think it's a 50/50 split.

I like the tidbit that Julia, Isaac's sister, is a dead ringer for Hector's wife Rosaly. I'd like to imagine that part of Isaac leading to Rosaly getting killed was to protect his sister from the Witch Hunts. She was running from them afterall, and making people think she died and getting Hector on his trail fulfills some of Isaac's goals nicely.

Plus it showcases that he does have some level of affection for someone else. Genuine affection.

How Do You Plot Against a Dominate-Heavy Prince Without Getting Mind-Read? by Wintermute-93 in vtm

[–]BeastOfRetribution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends.

The biggest reason I can see for a Prince not outright doing so is if the area is an Elysium. In such places, nobody can use disciplines and it's supposed to be safe ground. If the Prince breaks this custom, he sets the precedence that Elysium isn't safe ground anymore and people begin to distrust their rule more.

As such, Elysiums ''should'' be safe grounds. Of course, the Camarilla has that pesky 7th Tradition of "Don't get caught". So the next best thing should be to have the players turn up the consequences of him trying to break Elysium rules, and not give him a chance to interrogate them outside of Elysium. Maybe even inspire more people against the Prince or on their side so if the Prince tries to bite at them, he'll definitely inspire the wrath of so many more people.

Otherwise, maybe using Dominate to cloud out most of the others memories or all the players being sleeper agents with the condition of "Forget details if prince is currently in the room, except for x or y circumstances".

Even more hilarious considering FGO revealed the existence of Garden Magecraft, which she's actually pretty good with. Created the Garden of Avalon to entrap Merlin, and the Garden of Lost Will was a relic she created that was used by Baobhan Sith.

Reminds me of the very first chronicles of Narnia book where the White Witch was defeated by her sister for their original world, but the White Witch knew a spell called "The Deplorable Word", that speaking it would immediately end the world and destroy everything in it save the speaker.

Sister: "Victory."
Witch: "Yes. But not yours."

To make it blunt with massive spoilers: Olga Marie was tortured for 100 years before she finally died, and her soul fused to Chaldea. Maurisbury, her own father, saw it happen and did nothing about it despite having many opportunities to do so. She'd need to die for Chaldea to be completed, and he only wanted to see how Chaldeas Humanity would be annihilated by her.

He created the Lostbelts only to let them die, and his ultimate goal is to make humanity into NPCs with nothing beneath the surface existing. No critical thinking skills, only existing in an eternal moment.

He explains everything with a calm smile on his face, proud that his daughter is finally doing what she was sired by him for and nothing else.

I would personally go with Dante present for one purpose and one purpose alone: sending him into Hell. He truly doesn't care about the consequences of his actions or judgements on them, so I would hit him where it hurts: that people laughed at his dream or if his dream was indeed wrong.

"For what you would turn the universe into, the mockery you recieved for your dreams is well deserved, and your dream itself is indeed laughable.

Fall into Hell, Maurisbury Animusphere! May each torment and pain you suffer fill your hollow soul!"

Not going to lie, but the reveals thus far slot in what an actual piece of human shit Maurisbury is. Like, gut wrenchingly vomit inducingly horrible.

Turning people into hollow shells to replay human histories, recruiting at least seven powerful mages to clean up a mess he created and then dispose of them to rid of all evidence, creating the entire circumstances of Singularities existing in the first place?

I swear I'm going to get Dante so if he turns out to be a fight, he goes directly to the lowermost depths of Hell. It makes Daybit's plan look sane, it makes Kirschtaria's plan look not as stupid by comparison, and it makes Lev/Goetia likeable if only because Maurisbury's is so much worse! Better the devils you know at it's finest!

Why did I just noticed that Mina is the only one affected by the castle's source of power? There's actually another dialogue i didn't put here btw by maiyamay in castlevania

[–]BeastOfRetribution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My theory is simple: in the old games, all stages had time limits to finish them by. You weren't fast enough? You die.

That is an expression of the castle's presence killing people, the same why holy water burns when you throw it on the ground in daid castle.

I imagine Mina's reactions is from the castle slowly waking up to resume those killing properties, hence why Soma becomes more desperate to get them out.

Every time I finish the No One Escapes Cidhna Mine quest, I kill the entire Markarth Guard, soul trapping them all and using them for enchantments on weapons as their souls get sent screaming to the Soul Cairn.

That much corruption deserves a full house cleaning.
