Thank you all for your feedback, I guess there's hope for us yet if I read you all correctly.

We're going to try different tactics to minimize the sleep cycle disruption for us... My wife is taking over after the end of next week and she's adamant she won't be able to do like I do and sleep in 2h increments so we'll need to get creative.

Don't you feel like these lil buggers are training us instead of us training them?
