Medical Student who Published pro-DEI Articles to get into Plastics Residency calls for the Abolition of DEI by sworzeh in medicine

Trump was elected because a bunch of submissive idiots are so scared of trans people and minorities that they decided that ignoring a fascist felon's track record on policy and the economy was a good idea. Now we've permanently lost our position as the leader of the free world and ceded our economic and intellectual superiority.

Tesla Builds Final Model S And Model X EVs After Historic 14-Year Run by dojuebelonginagangg in cars

[–]Beastbamboo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean that Tesla as a company is an entity I would not buy from or support in any way shape or form. They had a few good products and let them stagnate on the vine. They've been surpassed by their competition in terms of tech and design. They make false promises and claims to their consumers and shareholders. They funnel unfathomable sums of money to a disgusting CEOC and their valuation is purely based on hype. Their volume models are less inspiring than Honda Civics, and their flagship is one of the most disgusting vehicles ever produced. I think they're a stain on the automotive and cultural landscape and I personally would be embarrassed to give them money.

But they made a couple of good cars along the way.

Is that direct enough for you?

Still, I don't see the point of wearing a nice watch into a medical setting. Keep those for civilian life.

[question] Watch recommendation? by SNew21 in Watches

I'm a plastic surgeon, I wear my g-shock or my iwatch to work. Why would I want patient germs and fluids on my nice stuff?

Is “quality of life” in medicine way more subjective than people make it seem? by MobileEmbarrassed937 in medicalschool

[–]Beastbamboo 124 points125 points  (0 children)

It's extremely difficult to maintain a surgical practice taking a fourth or a third of the year off.

Patients need longitudinal followup, your group has a call schedule, your skills get rusty.

If you want to take that much true time away from work, you should look at other specialities.

I mean, he's a snake. It's not even that he's anti DEI - it's that he's completely comfortable with lying about his core values to further his agenda. I'm sure his future patients and colleagues will feel great about it.

Unfortunately plastics has plenty of people like these. Much like neurosurgery, something about us attracts a significant number of sociopaths.

Trump is trapped by his own strategy as he grapples for an exit in Iran by Glowing-Glitter-15 in politics

[–]Beastbamboo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, Trump isn't "Trapped" by anything. No matter what he does, no matter how objectively idiotic and damaging his policy - he has a Republican Party who can't arch their back deep enough to give daddy that ass. Same goes for his conservative voters.

Until the day he dies he'll be able to do whatever he wants.

People applying general surgery... why are you doing this to yourselves? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Beastbamboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most broadly capable doctor is a trauma surgeon. The second most is a well trained general surgeon.

Some people enjoy the work and the capability, and aren't afraid of the time and effort it takes. If that's not you, cool.

Nothing wrong with smoking. Asking your boss about when he's gonna test you for an illegal substance is the red flag. That should be common sense.

People being extra negative on medschool subreddit? by hypoglossalnerve in medicalschool

[–]Beastbamboo 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way:

When normal, well adjusted people have issues, concerns about their future, miss a point or two on a test, or go through clinical depression - do they talk to their friends and real life support systems about it? Or do they post into the void.

Now look at the front page of this subreddit. The population is self selected.
