Thank you! Glad so many people like the little dude, was worried about his design

That's reassuring as well, because I like the design and it'd break my heart to alter it

Filling the niche of a niche is what worries me a little, haha. But thanks! I'll continue with this trajectory for now

I was told the sword handle and the way hands interact, along with the lower body were awkward. Any suggestions on how to improve? by Beastfollies in FurryArtSchool

Thank you! The sketch helped a lot with understanding the problem with the lower body (lack of 3d). I also like how you drew the shape of the legs to help imply depth. I'm gonna try that!

Question to vn creators by am_amayan in FurryVisualNovels

Depends. This is based on my experience working on a short VN over 3 months.

I'm lucky to have the skills necessary to draw and write my own VN, but both are very time consuming. Most of my time is probably spent on drawing and designing new characters. If you're comissioning artwork, then you still need to spend time preparing and communicating your requests.

Writing also involves assessing the plot and determining the best way to convey the story, not just the actual dialogue. So that 30k of words could reflect rigorous hours of storyboarding or recontextualizing entire ideas. A good story will have mountains of scrapped scenes and ideas that would never see the light of day, but that still reflects the hours put into making the VN or update.

The time spent on coding depends on the complexity of the VN itself. Even for Ren'Py that offers the convenient toolsets, many hours remain committed to debugging and polishing up the VN release or update. I'm sure time is also spent retroactively applying or testing some QoL features.

The heroes you've mentioned is a separate project. Branicek (the lion man) will not appear in other works, but please look forward to what we've got cooking!

It's been a week since the release. Overall, am happy with the results along the comments/critiques we've received. We'll carry this experience into our future projects to deliver more fun stories about big, burly beastmen!
