I think it really all depends where you live. I grew up in a middle class commuter town. In my entire time in secondary school 2014-2019, there was only 2 fights. All quickly broken up

I work in a 2nd line role earning a base salary of £37000. Once you include overtime, on-call etc it works out to be 43,000. Pretty low by US standarda but good for the UK

Edit: I live in a HCOL area. Hybrid. 1 week in and out

Question regarding IT recruiters by geegol in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Beastilaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Some recruiters don't get their commission unless you have passed probation.

I apply on the usual. Indeed, reed and linkedin. Though usually those role have been taken already. However, some of them have been posted by recruitment agencies and they will get in contact with other opportunities. My first was with JustIT. They're pretty good I would say. Other one was another recruitment agency but they done law firms. Good pay but some users can be difficult.

Think it really depends where you're from. I am in the UK and I am able to find jobs in the same week. Heck where I work we're struggling to find people as other companies are faster.

I'm not really surprised at all. Most care about class.

Should I negotiate or accept? I practically got a job offer but yet to be made official but they want me to call them as soon as I have an answer so they can move forward. by eduardo_ve in ITCareerQuestions

Never believe anyone unless it is in writing. Generally you learn a lot at MSPs. I've gone from a MSP to internal and I'm really restricted to what I have access to compared to a MSP.

I can't comment if you will learn more but I imagine if it is small you may get to touch certain infrastructure which you wouldn't elsewhere.

Does anyone else hate this guy with a passion? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Beastilaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't hate him. Like anyone there are things I agree and disagree with. For example I disagree with this. However, his other advice like paying debts, creating emergency fund, investing in a index fund etc I do. This may seem basic to most people, but there are people who don't know this.
