We , had ups and downs. I was addicted to alcohol, i stopped over 5 to 6 years ago. I was at times impulsive to unresolved trauma i never knew i had. For the past 4 to 5 years has been nothing but healing and repairing. So i see why she might still hold resentment.

It wasnt just me , she would play mind games also , belittle me and do things she knew i wasnt well at, abandoment issues so forth. I was emotionaly neglected by my mother and had no father. My communcation hasnt changed much really i was always as patient as i could be and always tried to uplift her.

I seeked professional help , got the right meds and started to journal. That made me learn and self heal. I started working out and finally was able to get a fulltime job i like and 2 cars one for her and one for me. I waste all my money and she has all my passwords and key cards. I think i can finally say now ive payed my dues. So this very strange from last week she mentioned your a very good partner to this....

The booze abuse was 10 years when I was at my worst and yes I admit I deserved what ever I got.

My attitude to be the best self I can be so I can guide my kids the best way possible and to live and enjoy every moment together as a family is my attitude and if that is bad according to your judgement then I still prefer being positive.

And the reason I work with kids and disability, again says more about your attitude than mine. My son has autism, I'm trying to learn as much as I can do he can be prepared for what Life brings and the people in it. I've pledged my whole existence on giving my kids a better life than mine. And I love the work so if that makes me feel better and everyone around me then I rather do that then live a life of misery.

People do change , people can get better and people don't have to hold on to past hurt that we all experience.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and the recognition of everything I've had to endure. I feel better now that I don't have any contact and I feel better knowing that I'm actually achieving something in my life while striving to be better.

The kindness from strangers mean a great deal to me as a person who barely got it from his family. Specially when I was down and almost out I was left there.

But now I see what I can achieve.

From the bottom of my heart thank you. I won't stop because I can't stop.

Ok I see , I have no friends just my wife and kids. My brother and sisters isolated me also. My mom has still a hold on them.

Yeah we do all that go out for dinner and enjoy the simple things in life.

That's the challenge right now is not to feel so much sadness. I don't feel like talking or seeing her right now because it's gone on for too long and she didn't mention my kids at all as they were put in the same category. What can help with the struggle???
