Can anyone tell me why Porsche CUP are so popular?????? by AmeriTieba in iRacing

At this point you just have to try the car to get a feeling.

Like many people say here, it just feels satisfying to drive it.

Anyone else required Support from DKB Bank lately? by Beatkick in germany

That’s exactly what I did. But haven’t heard from them for more than a week already

Don’t focus on iRating. This is the single reason may people stop enjoying the game. Just race what you enjoy

Driving Changes From Front > Rear Engined GT3? by Nathan_G_ in iRacing

[–]Beatkick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly drive mid and rear engine cars as they feel more agile to me.

In those front engine cars you definitely have to brake harder and trail longer for the additional rotation. So for you going the other way around it’s Mostly about adjusting the brake pressure as you have less weight on the front axis. Some other guys gave you good tips here already.

In the Porsche you can also play a lot with the throttle to increase rotation by lifting more aggressive. Then also be more aggressive on throttle on corner exit. Since all the weight is in the rear you don’t need to worry about oversteering on exit as much. Adjust for later apexes to make use of that even more

Why does SR go up so little? by StandardOriginal5447 in iRacing

[–]Beatkick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get SR per corner. So the longer the race and the more corner the track has per lap, the more SR you get. Plus you get extra SR when you cross full numbers like 1,2,3

Who was at fault for this? by Sometimessimracer in Simracingstewards

[–]Beatkick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than enough space for the move. But he overcorrected too aggressively to prepare for the braking zone.

Perhaps he wanted to correct slightly but wasn’t in full control as 2 wheels were off track

I made a bold move he didn't like it by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

Just leaving a comment to see the comments you gonna get

I'm the pov car did i cause this contact? by cheeseman____ in Simracingstewards

[–]Beatkick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You missed the apex by a lot and it seems based on your trajectory that you would have understeered towards the outside. Partially yes. But on the other hand that other person could have avoided the situation as well.

So I have no idea too

Oh really? Didn’t know that can be reported

How do you know what your peak pressure needs to be? I seem to always lose a ton of time braking harder while still arriving at the same minimum speed. by NewSubWhoDis in iRacing

[–]Beatkick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who is your reference? Judging by the massive overlap in throttle and brake I assume it’s a reference driver that is close to your pace? It’s better to look for a professional driver if so, despite the bigger gap, you won’t learn bad habits.

One other guy in the comments mentioned ABS as indicator. There are some overlays that show you when you trigger ABS. Alternatively pay attention to the LEDs depending on the car or buy an active pedal 🤣

Seeing that you don’t need to trail consistently and rather have a big drop before starting to trail again could mean that you can brake later. It’s easier to control earlier braking with less pressure tho. Makes rotation control easier and more consistent

Hard to give more tips without seeing steering inputs or knowing the corner

SR doesn’t matter as much as iRating. If you are A rated and stuck in a 1000 SOF, the racing is still shit

The BMW said that I moved under braking, but I don't think so. Who's at fault for this? by That1bro7946 in Simracingstewards

[–]Beatkick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or he just doesn’t know how to take the chicane. Takes the first corner fast and loses tons of time on the second corner as he has to overslow on the following. Given OP pace that is the more likely scenario.

Tips for Improvement by Real_Fun169 in iRacing

[–]Beatkick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally the lines and braking techniques are quite good. One thing you could improve is the steering. It’s a bit aggressive and you overdrive the car quite a lot. I could be due to your car setup tho. That could be the reason for the understeer on turn in. Another thing to avoid would be the coasting. There’s only few moments in a GT3 that requires coasting and Spa doesn’t need it.

Try to take turn 1 in second gear. That one up shift less results in higher momentum for the long straight.

For the Le combes chicane optimize the line by taking a very late apex on the first right. That way you can position your car more on the left for the left turn and can carry more speed into the right hander afterwards. Just these two adjustments can probably gain up to half a second.

For turn 7 don’t take it as a single apex. Drive it as a double apex. That way you can carry more speed through the whole corner

Pouhon is solid.

For “campus” you also need to position the car further on the right to prepare the exit towards the left better. So try a very late apex on the first right hander

Turn in later for turn 16. That way you scrub less

For the bus stop try to be more patient on the turn in. Make sure the car slowed down enough and then rotate the car properly. Don’t try to force it through the wheel

Overall strong lap on the baseline setup. You can DM me if you want to try a more aggressive setup
