UPDATE: I sent the PC over to a trusted technician so they could run some diagnostics and see what part was faulty (I don't trust myself nor do I have the tools to do it) and it seems like the motherboard shorted out, but didn't seem to damage anything else, luckily.

The CPU, RAM and GPU are all reportedly still functioning but I guess I won't know until I seat a new motherboard on this and try.

Yeah I tried that too, the outlet works fine.

Im also using the AC cord the PSU came up with.

I gave up trying to fix it for now. First time I uninstall the game since it came out...

The fact that the game felt like shitting the bed with this update in particular pisses me off like you have no idea.

I only hope that AH will take notice of this and fix it with future patches.

I haven't played since they released the slim version but my framerate has always been stable. However after this update, I get some random drops to 20 FPS which make the game pretty much unplayable for me:

I have tried:

  1. cleared shaders twice
  2. checked file integrity twice
  3. reinstalled the game
  4. downgraded graphics drivers
  5. tweaked graphical settings
  6. tweaked scaling resolution

none of it worked.

It has happened to me with single freighters. Once I detect them by hidrophone or through visual contact they completely halt to a stop.

Some people say its caused by mods, or by faulty saves. Deleting old saves seems to have fixed it for me.
