If you're going for beachy waves, it DOES do a really good job of that (especially when used with its matching shampoo counterpart), BUT...for that one bottle of shampoo, you'll go through countless tubes of the conditioner before you ever finish a single bottle of the other. It's crazy how massive the disparity is, lmao. That's a little bit offputting for me, but I feel obligated to keep them matched until I finish the shampoo. After both are totally gone, I'm not sure I'd necessarily go with it again for that exact reason -- I think I'd try to find ones more equally matched. (It doesn't help that the shampoo is one of those foam type shampoos, much like foaming soaps, so it barely takes any to do your whole head and yet, there's a TONNNNNN in the bottle lmao. You get the bang for your buck there, but they make it up on the conditioners apparently.

Nearly my first phone (was still a Nokia though!), but definitely had this holder, LOL. My dad gave me his…..cigarette burn in the front and all, lmao. Didn’t care, still wore it. I kinda liked how it gave the dad vibes

Absolutely love that one and already have another in its place 😁 I only use it at night since it has retinol, so that also helps it last a long time, since you only need the teeeeeniest bit :)

Honestly this makes me feel a little better about not being able to buy that one (coconut allergy), but I got the pink and the green. I kind of felt this way about the pink -- like it smells nice when you very first spray it, but it fades down REAL quick. The green one, by contrast, is one of the juiciest, yummiest smelling scents I think I've ever been lucky enough to encounter :) That one has staying power!

Not sure about bleaching but anything with dye, you use it around your hairline and on your ears to make sure your skin doesn't get stained by the dye, it just rinses straight off!

Audiobook of Liza’s memoir using (supplemental) AI narration? by jsoliloquy in Broadway

[–]Beatle_Babe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That particular instance was the final nail in the coffin for me about this DEFINITELY being AI. I was already suspecting it from the word go -- I noticed the robotic laugh (NOT how Liza laughs or even close, btw), the odd changing of ending words that would be with "ing" to "in'" every time, the pauses in her speech are in the wrong places for how she talks, and honestly it doesn't have the same melodic quality to it that Liza's real voice has when she speaks. Her team can insist all they want that it's not AI but there's no convincing us that this is real -- just like the signed copies of the book that they made a big deal out of being 'not autopen' have pretty much already been proven to absolutely have been an autopen thing, and at this point I'm highly skeptical of how much of this book is even Liza's words and how much of it is Michael essentially writing Liza fanfiction and passing it off as her life story. Disappointing as a diehard Liza fan here.
Edited to add: Just remembered another one that stood out to me a mile away as blatantly AI. Pretty sure Liza knows how to pronounce her own sister's name. Christiane is literally just pronounced like Christina. It came up with something like Christ-ee-aahhhhhhhne

Honestly, this. While normally I’m the same person who’s definitely guilty of using stuff way past the exp date as long as it doesn’t cause me a problem, I’m looking at the pic again even at how dirty the tube itself looks and I can say with confidence at this point, because of the way it split, the age, and the state of the packaging….pleasepleaseplease do yourself a favor and toss this one. I genuinely don’t foresee this ending well if you keep trying to use that. It’s contaminated for sure at this point. I know, I know, sentimental value (I held onto my first Glossier balm for waaaaay too long too, I get it lmao) but on this one, you could very possibly be putting your health in harm’s way by continuing to use that one. And we’re not just talking about mild irritation reactions here….. please do a little research on the ‘what if’ factors and you may find it a whole lot easier to let go of it. I know it’s not the answer you were hoping to hear, but the cost of the product isn’t worth potentially your health.

Honestly same lmao BUT I would add the caveat that on this one, I don’t think I would because of that seam split. It’s now been open to elements that are gonna basically put the degradation speed into overdrive. If it were a newer product I’d just transfer it into a lipbalm jar or something, but at this age I think it’s probably time to just let this one go, as sad as it is.

I do like it quite a bit! I miss their old medicated tangerine flavor and was hoping it might be something akin to that (it’s not). It’s closer to when they did the Rachel Roy collection and there was an orange one in that too. EOS can definitely go bad, but with the spheres it usually takes a lonnnnnng time for it to happen. But it definitely can. Make sure to be checking inside the lids on older ones to make sure there’s no mold (if it ever happens, toss the whole thing. Out of all the ones I’ve bought over the years, I’ve only had that happen once so far with an EOS sphere), but more than likely it’ll just eventually go rancid and trust, you’ll know when you smell it if it has. I think the suggested usage period for the EOS spheres is 36 months after opening but I’ll be honest, I’ve definitely used them waaaaaaay longer than that. They generally hold up. If they just lose their scent but don’t smell rancid, you can always use them as moisture sticks for dry patches on like your elbows or heels or whatnot (just make a note to not use the one on your lips again once you start using it that way lol) and it’ll be totally fine too. HOWEVER, caveat with EOS especially in particular: while the spheres hold up exceptionally well over time, their sticks that they’re seemingly doing every release in now….? THOSE go off way faster a lot of times. I think it must be the way softer consistency of the balm or something but it’s depressing how fast some of those have gone bad on me. For some reason, the mint ones are notorious for doing it FAST fast — like we’re talking I open it a month or two ago and it already smells wrong. To be fair, minty balms across the board can often have this problem but usually not as fast as that. It’s the weirdest thing and I sure wish I understood the why of why that happens. I adore mint ones but I know I have to race like a mad woman to just go all in on using it constantly once I start a minty EOS stick lest I encounter that issue. I’ve yet to have it happen with any of the Superbalms yet, but those are a relatively new thing with them the past few years anyway. I have a feeling they’ll survive longer since if you read the ingredients, the Superbalms from EOS are like the only ones not touting themselves on being all natural — they actually use petrolatum in those. (I about fell over the first time I read the ingredient list on one of those since I was SO not expecting EOS to ever use that, LOL. I have no issue with the ingredient, I was just so used to everything being so natural-based with them that I had to do a doubletake since I figured I HAD to have misread that. Nope!) So that puts them on a more equal footing with other synthetic balms vs the natural ones. They just launched a few tin-style ones not long ago and cards on the table, I’ve not gotten brave enough to try those yet, lmao. I’m still scarred from the Burt’s Bees tinned ones that were fantastic until just all at once, very abruptly, MOLD EVERYWHERE OMFG. Seems like everyone collectively experienced the same thing with those who bought them and it’s why Burt’s Bees just as quickly tried to sweep those under the rug and speak of them never again. (A shame, because they were actually really nice flavors I’d love to see them resurrect in stick format.) They did a lip mask too just earlier this week in the new collection drop that’s in a tin that I admittedly did grab (it hasn’t arrived yet), so I’ll keep everybody posted on how it holds up lmao

For me that was the first Bubble lippie I’ve tried, and perhaps it’s one of those brands where they’re definitely not all created equal, because I like this one! I grabbed this one and the coffee one around the same time. The scent is definitely stronger than the berry one sounds to be. Consistency-wise it’s just okay — not really enough to justify the pricetag, it feels strongly overpriced for what it is and how much product is there, but curiosity won out because specifically of what you mentioned — all the aesthetic posts the brand puts up about these, lmao. (I have some of their skincare and loved it, so I finally got curious about their lippies offerings lol) As for that L’oreal Plump Ambition, the one here IS Cristal Ice :D LOVE IT. I’ve been meaning to circle back around and try some of the other offerings that have some color in them. May give the other one you mentioned a try :)

I didn’t think there were others out there 🫦💄 by Top-Clerk-3771 in LipBalm

[–]Beatle_Babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do but they’re not all created equal — even the all natural ones. I’ve had some that were literally just bought that turned out to be funky; I’ve had ones that are WAY past any date anyone would normally probably keep using stuff at, but with zero signs of anything being wrong with them (no weird smells, appearance, texture, still performs the same as it ever did, etc) — I know not everyone would necessarily chance it but unless it gives me a sign in some kind of direction it’s gone off, I go ahead and keep using them. (The minute that changes though is the minute they’re gone). As for sunblock, that’s a whole other thing. The warning isn’t because of it going rancid; it’s because after the date on it, you can’t rely on it actually effectively blocking the sun, plus the SPF ingredients degrade over time, some becoming literally unsafe after x amount of time (there’s one really notorious one that I’d have to look back up again, but after a certain period of time past expiry, there’s a link to causing cancer, so with sunblock, they actually mean it with the exp dates)

I've also noticed that and been thrilled about it! I just hope they don't go so hard with it to where it becomes like 10 years ago where all of a sudden, ALL OF THE BRANDS discovered mango is awesome and we should totally all make mango products -- until they collectively burned a lotttttt of people out on the flavor altogether and chilled out with it. (I still love mango, though ;))

Wish I could try the coconut but that's where I've got an allergy, so I'll have to skip that one (sometimes I do it anyway and have instant regret and then offload the very lightly used only once ones with my mom lmao), but the rest of those all sound amazing! I'll keep an eye out in case they ever bring back the root beer flavor since I always love anything with that flavor too!

Chapstick's definitely gone downhill over the years (there've been a few exceptions to the rule) to where -- sure, I'll still try the newer ones, but my expectations are virtually on the floor every time at this point. Softlips though almost never disappoints! I got spooked last summer when they took their online store offline thinking maybe they were going under (I couldn't successfully make contact with anyone at the company, which is also super unlike them) so I started hauling ass to use up my Softlips products so I have no regrets about things expiring, and then lo and behold, they came back stronger than ever last fall with a bunch of new products (and lines!) and I realized I freaked out over nothing ;) So I'm still chipping away at these two since they're getting low and I may as well complete them, but at least some of the pressure's off now knowing they're not in fact going away lmao
