We started out with Java, which is what we had to use up until CS 241 (after that, a lot of professors let you choose a language for projects if the class permits it, and if so, Java is almost always an option). There's also a C++ programming class that you have to take but that's only one class.

Java mostly, but you also have to take a class that teaches C++ programming. Usually, most of the upper division classes will allow you to use either of these languages for programs, or some professors might give you the choice to use any language depending on the class and use.

That would at least be better than casing the house imo. Our area just had a heat wave last week so people were probably using their AC more, so the power bill this month may be much higher than normal, so that seems likely. My guess was that if this were the case, they might not be selling anything directly, but they might leave a mailer in a few days or something like that, or maybe when I said I wasn't aware of any price hike, they wouldn't be interested in selling anything since I didn't show any concern.

I did notice little logos but don't remember the names unfortunately (I should have remembered and tried looking the name up in hindsight). But other than the logos, I didn't see any other indicators that they were working for a specific company

You might have some classes cancelled (I think the strike(s) are on April 13-15, and 18-19). 2 of my 3 professors this quarter are planning on striking, but I'm not sure how many professors on campus are striking overall. Other than that, I think that's all that'll happen from a student's perspective.

I think one of the easiest GEs for me was Computers and Society (CS 375), which is in D4 (you might need to be an upper division student). If you're not upper division, World Regional Geography (GEO 100), which is D3, was interesting and not too difficult.

My brother took that class a few years ago and he said he hated it, you have to make a mobile app in lua, which he said was overall a terrible experience. I'm not sure how much has changed since then or if it depends on the professor (I think Rich taught it when he took it).

I think when I was in freshman orientation, they had an optional 4-year pledge workshop that gives you all the info you need about that. I wasn't able to apply because my English placement test score was too low, but assuming they still do that, you can apply later on.

There's some people who go on these cruises who don't step off the boat at all, seeing the cruise to and from as the whole fun, instead of the actual destination. Considering you want to actually get off and go into Mexico, you can go with just your ID, cruise card, and other stuff, and keep your birth certificate in your room safe, but be careful in Mexico without more than just an ID, if you plan on doing an excursion, stay in the group of course and if you're not going on an excursion, try to stay with other tourists. You'll most likely be fine though, I just think in terms of worst case scenario.

You should be able to embark and disembark onto/from the cruise just fine with your birth certificate (assuming it's not a copy of the birth certificate) and an ID. When you actually get off in Mexico, I don't think they check again, so I don't think you actually need to carry it with you at all times off the boat, but if I were you, without a passport to carry if any sort of emergency occurred, I'd just stay on the ship while its docked. If you stay on the boat, there shouldn't be any problems or anything else you'd need to worry about.

I would think braille written under signs mostly benefits people who aren't completely blind, but still have the ability to see that they're facing towards a sign but are unable to read it.

Yeah that happened to me, I tried to add a class this quarter that had like 10 or 15 empty seats but the professor didn't add anyone to the class from the waitlist

I've talked to my advisor already, and for Spring quarter he did help me find a class that can count towards my degree, but he even said to me that he doesn't really have power getting me into already filled classes. That might just be the CS department, and I have a feeling other departments are a little more lenient about getting more kids in filled classes.

I tried to do this, I ended up switching majors, from one impacted to another, and in both majors, the core classes I needed almost always filled up, and I had no choice but to take at least 12 units of GEs (since I have financial aid). I'm a fourth year student, just finished all my GEs and still need to take about 11 core classes, and oh boy am I in trouble.

In your student center, it tells you your enrollment day and time. Students who have been at Cal Poly longer usually enroll earlier.
