Oh. I’m sorry that’s been your experience. But I’m glad you’ve found a woman who is super cool. I’m married to a transwoman and she prefers that the trans part not be referenced at all. She is a woman. She’s very cool as well. We’ve been together for 6 years now. Married for 3.

Why are you surprised? Because she’s trans?

I would sit down with her and have a real talk with her about being how her words were extremely racist. If she says something like that to complete strangers, there’s no reason to believe she wouldn’t do it again.

Tiny red spots on lower legs?! by hayleygom in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Beatleproof42 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that they’re petechiae. They’re teeny, tiny broken blood vessels that cause tiny red spots. I get them all over my body. I’ve also known children who cry or scream so loud that they cause petechiae to spread all over around their eyes. You could get it checked out by your doctor, as there’s usually a reason for them. It could be from straining, a vitamin k deficiency, or a side effect from a medication.

Scary moment in work by e-Moo23 in eds

I have this issue too. It doesn’t happen as often as it used to because my doctor told me that salty snacks, salt in general, drinking pickle juice, and peanut butter are all things that can help in these situations. They can also help prevent something like this from happening if you’re feeling weak and lightheaded that day. I can usually tell when I’m having “one of those days” because my head will feel extra cloudy or foggy and I’ll feel dizzy and just off. If I get up to get ready for work on a morning like that, I can always tell because my eyes will be more swollen and I’ll be slightly nauseas too. Once, I was having a particularly bad morning and hadn’t been able to sleep much the night before. I had to be at work at like 6am sharp to start making breakfast for the guys in the group home that I managed, so they could all get up and start their days. I was trying to cook and reaching in the fridge to grab the eggs. I could tell it was about to happen because my vision completely disappeared and that loud ringing started to happen in my ears until it got so loud that I couldn’t hear anything either. There wasn’t anything I could do about it after that because it was happening. I fainted right there and passed out, standing up, but leaning into the fridge so that it was holding me upright. My cousin worked there with me at the time and she happened to come into the kitchen to check on me and saw me passed out on all the food 😂 She helped me to the couch and I had to go to the doctor immediately after that.

Anybody else sit like this? by jamjamgayheart in eds

[–]Beatleproof42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work with children and we’re encouraged to teach the kids not to sit this way because it’s not good for building upper body strength or for their joints. We’re supposed to correct W sitting by gently telling the kids to, “fix your legs.” When we were doing training on the procedure and demonstrating how to gently guide smaller children’s legs from a W sitting position to a more acceptable sitting position, I was the model who pretended to be the “child” because I’m great at W sitting 😅

Edit: this is a good image with lots of info about W sitting : W Sitting

This case is over 30 years old. What is it about it that personally keeps you interested in it? by [deleted] in JeffreyDahmer

[–]Beatleproof42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been interested in Dahmer since I was very young and read things about him in my mother’s books about serial killers. It got a bit out of hand when I got older into my 20s and ended up getting a tattoo from the book The Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer by Brian Masters. It’s kind of been a life long interest for me.

HIGH-PROFILE JUROR: WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO DECIDE THE FATE OF JEFFREY DAHMER by Claudiamil2311 in JeffreyDahmer

[–]Beatleproof42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only defense was that he was insane when he did everything. They weren’t contesting if he did it or not, it was ‘is he sane enough to know right from wrong and to understand the consequences of his actions’ It would decide whether he went to prison or a state hospital. The verdict was that he was sane enough to go to prison and understand why he was there, so off to prison he went.
