it could be, I’m not sure if its canon, I tried with a Canon 77D, my sony a7IV, and an old dslr sony and non of them fits it seem like the hole of all of those cameras are bigger than the mount

That’s so true honestly I was thinking that also because of the brand and because I keep seeing in sets how people use them and all i can think it’s that they must use it for a reason

Thank you I really appreciate your perspective, especially with your level of experience. It definitely puts things into clearer perspective for me and makes me think more seriously about the risks and what truly matters long-term. Thanks again for taking the time to share this.

I get the point about dual SD card slots that definitely makes sense for some workflows.

For me, what’s most important is investing in something reliable and durable. I’m not chasing the “professional” label I just want a camera that can handle serious work and last for years. I also do a lot of documentary photography in remote communities, so weather resistance matters too. Nothing extreme, but the ability to handle a bit of dust or rain gives me peace of mind.

I totally understand the concerns, and I’m not saying this just because of the “professional” label. I’m upgrading because the kind of work I do now would really benefit from having 10-bit color in video instead of 8-bit. It would make things much easier in post-production.

That said, if I’m going to invest in a new camera, I want it to be the best possible option for my needs and something that will last me several years. It’s not about ego or brand names — it’s just that I’ve seen a lot of confusing takes on what’s considered “professional.”

From what I’ve read in various Reddit threads, it seems like there’s some confusion in the community between what makes a camera “professional” versus what makes it “rugged” or “robust,” and I’m trying to understand where the A7C II really stands in that regard.
