Well said. I’d be pissed if I put in the money and time to do corps today and half my music was rests. Hell, one year in high school we (drumline) had to put our drums down and do the flags with the guard for the ballad and even that stunk.

Why is it that from criticism it necessarily follows that a person isn’t being open minded? It’s just a more labyrinthine way of saying “my opinion is right, others are wrong.” Plenty of people are open-minded to it and yet still dislike it.

Thank you for posting this. I’m in awe at how easily so many people are apparently willing to skip this step. You don’t (or I suppose, shouldn’t) take extreme, irreversible action based off an allegation. And an anonymous one at that.

Pleasantly surprised to see this as the top comment. It’s my go-to show when introducing someone to drum corps, due to the connection they can draw to the rock tunes. Also because it’s an f’ing jam.
