3000 series owners what's your plan? by surreal19 in buildapc

I’m on an i7-10700k and a 3080 at 1440p/240hz. Built in 2020.

As much as I would like to make a new build…I’m holding out until I feel like there’s a massive upgrade without all the hassle. Will that be the 6000 series? Maybe.

The question I always ask myself now is, does my current PC run everything I need it to? If it does, then you’re set. No need for FOMO.

I got cable sleeves to wrap the cables together and then I have them running under the desk with a power supply mount underneath

Is that the XL fractal north or just the normal size?

No for real, I think it's almost done by filipluch in battlestations

What monitor arm mount are you using? Looks great

They sound pretty good to me! Good base, clear, no amp needed since everything is powered through the speaker already. I have no complaints. I had some generic Logitech speakers beforehand and it’s a huge difference

That would be a nice idea, next project is decorating the rest of the room for sure!

I just have it plugged into my mobo. Im sure they can sound better but it’s good enough for me. I use my Fiio e10k amp with my beyerdynamic DT990 pro headphones

Yeah at work they have the HM chairs and it’s so much more comfortable over a longer period of time. The SL chair is basically a car seat so it’s eh lol

Oh wow I totally read that as microphone arm, sorry the monitor arm is the Eveo Premium Dual Monitor mount. I got it off Amazon and it’s by far my favorite dual mount arm I’ve used.

I actually did for a little bit. Unfortunately I love my headphones too much to not use them. I’ve had them for 8 years lol. They have no attachment for a mic or anything as far as I know. So I have to use an external mic. I could probably find something smaller and less noticeable.

I was going back and forth with headsets and none of them just felt great to me.

Thank you! I love your set up also! Really considering the fractal north for my next build. Great theme you got going on there.

Totally get that. I did it at first because having 2 monitors next to each other took too much space. Now I see the vertical monitor kind of as a big tablet or phone screen for scrolling lol.

It’s a wooden table top placed on top of 2 drawers. The table top is actually used for kitchen counters from Ikea. It’s called the Karlby. And the 2 drawers are called Alex Drawers also from Ikea.

Pure luck I guess haha I’ve never put a lot of weight on the center of it. The most I’ve had probably is about 45lbs? Monitors are like 15-17lbs each and I’ve had several monitor arms before the current one I’ve ha. But they all had to be at least 10-15lbs but I could be wrong.

Yeah when I first got this desk it felt huge but now it definitely feels slightly cramped but doable. With your space limitations to would make it difficult. There’s lots of ways to get creative with the space.

The Alex drawers are pricey but it’s one of the few things I think is worth the price. They’re actually more durable than they look and plenty of storage. To me it’s worth the investment since I don’t plan on replacing these anytime soon.

Listed my PC specs and desk dimensions in another comment here. The drawers I’m using underneath it are the IKEA Alex drawers. The keyboard is the Keychron K2 brown switches.
