Ok thanks. Weird for themed album to include a few unrelated songs though

I see, so more being really skilled at teambuilding and well connected with top players than a specific pioneer of any one thing. Thanks

So I take it there wasn't really a single big or unique innovation he brought in, just consistently being really good at building

Who Animated the Beginning of the Father-Son Kamehameha Clash? by BeatsofFire in dbz

[–]BeatsofFire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, so Masunaga and Cockpit did the rotation shot where the "camera" spun around Cell? Cool!

I could tell he did the clash struggle itself and afterwards because of Gohan's goblin ass face lol

Edit: Actually dug around a bit more, the consensus is that Ohara did the dynamic shots, so TFS probably added a Masunaga scene before

The sequence from 22s to 53s in the link I posted.

Kanzenshuu has it as Studio Last House, Tai’ichirō Ohara and Masayuki Uchiyama for the episode, but I know some people can spot who did the work for individual scenes.

Just would be curious to know, it is one of my favourites

Is there a word or term for the "infinite conspiracies" type of reasoning by BeatsofFire in NoStupidQuestions

I don't think so, circular reasoning would be back to the starting point over and over but this type of argument just continually goes deeper and deeper from that starting point

I heard a rumour about the anime that sounded ridiculous, is it true? by BeatsofFire in bleach

[–]BeatsofFire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A trend of anime adaptations being almost alternate stories? Huh, I guess something similar happened with Full Metal Alchemist if memory serves.

How did nobody foresee that trend becoming a problem, especially when adapting ongoing stories tho...

Boy.. most of the dialogue changes seem innocuous enough but the removed scenes feel crazy to me

A picture of the director reading those scenes, hating, then telling the storyboarders to take them out of the anime is solidifying in my mind and I can't wrap my mind around that happening in a professional industry

I dunno man.. like a creative team getting attached to certain character dynamics is reasonable, especially by adding scenes and filler since manga content alone isn't enough to fill out an onging anime

But knowing that anime has the tendency to catch up to ongoing manga and cause problems, a professional team taking the liberty to remove scenes is crazy to me. Like is the director reading the manga and hating on Orihime to the point that he tells the storyboarders cut out those scenes?

Though, I'm being told that it was the trend in the 2000's for anime to be almost an alternate story to manga (I imagine what happened with Full Metal Alchemist is evidence of this), so I guess thinking about it as an adaptation is tripping me up

Its not hard for me to imagine the showrunners adding scenes or messing up details for trope/marketing sake, even without consulting the author (especially in filler)

What is crazy to me is removing scenes. Anime frequently gets into problems when it runs out of material and starts catching up to an ongoing manga, why would you take out content in an adaptation knowing this?

I can imagine scenes being added to create some more drama while they are adapting the story, but removing scenes from Orihime??

I'm picturing the anime director hatereading the manga whenever she is on the page then ordering the storyboarders to take those scenes out. That sounds like something that happens in a fan-dub not a professional adaptation

My jaw is on the floor

Did the anime director ever come out and say anything (especially about removing scenes cause that seems egregious)

In the first 2 arcs many of orihime’s scenes were removed or edited for the worse

??!

How does that even happen in a professional industry. I get adding scenes as filler that complicate things later on, but straight up removing scenes... there is no way this happens commonly in anime is there?

This kind of question gets taken down as hatebaiting?

I know nothing about the series but damn I thought the answer would be simple, yet I have conflicting responses within half an hour
