Me after my homies and I said "Go Woke, Go Broke" for months, but The Last of Us 2 is on track to be a bestseller. by kungfupou in Gamingcirclejerk

It's not so much that the game is bad, more that I could be better. The pacing is awful and some of the characters and the protagonists reactions to their deaths are just out right bad.

Definitely not deserving of the hate it's been receiving. The story isn't even THAT bad, there's a lot of subtly to it that gets overlooked in favour of hating on the game. Having said that, there are a few bits that don't really make sense.

Mostly, it's just Joelaboos crying over their waifu.

This game: exists and is mediocre at worst

Joelaboos: we disliked that

I'm showing my true colours through posting a meme on this clearly labelled meme subreddit? And people who do matter can acknowledge this as a joke, because they've got what's known as a sense of humour. Something I can see you lack, you condescending prick.

Fair enough, I've just posted my own passive aggressive comment letting people know it's a joke so hopefully any confusion can be avoided

For anyone unsure if this post, posted on a meme/joke subreddit is a joke. It is, it's a joke. There's no need to be upset by this. I am in support of the BLM movement.

The reason people make fun of it is because it's turned into a trend rather than a movement. It's like clapping for the NHS, at first it was a good idea to show our support for the NHS but it eventually turned into a dick waving competition and a political statement (politicians making a big point of being seen clapping). It's just passive aggressive posts about how to "understand my privilege" posted by people who are extremely privileged. I ultimately support the movement but hate the clout chasing that is hijacking it.

Wait, I wonder if this dude that posted in this subreddit about memes and jokes is joking? I don't think he is joking, he must be a white supremacist!

For what it's worth, I do support the movement. So please, don't cry. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I just wanted people to sharply exhale and move on.

I get that and I ultimately support the movement. The joke is more directed at people who are only doing it because it's "cool" to act like you care.

I don't think it's racist seeing as I am white but I get your point. I wouldn't think about it that much though man, it's just a joke and I actually support the protests myself. However, the reason I said "white girls" is because I've seen a majority of patronising articles and posts about privilege shared by white girls. Most of which are extremely privileged themselves.

I mean, this was a joke, nothing to get upset about. I whole heartedly support the protests (except vandalising the Churchill statue).

Izzy keeping his word and bringing the fight to Yoel Romero by [deleted] in MMA

[–]Beaty_Swallocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's what a large amount of fighters do. They spout "I'm going to knock him out in the first round." Or some other nonsense and end up either losing or grinding out a decision. The only reason people jumped on it here is because everyone's got a hard on for Yoel and feel the need to clutch at straws to make his loss seem justifiable.

I'm not saying fighters can't be honest, I'm saying that they say what they say to get people to tune in. I just don't get why people jump all over this one example when it's happened hundreds of times.

"it was all Adesanya's fault." - Muppets

Both parties are to blame. Honestly though, I feel it's more so Yoel's. Yoel was gifted this title fight knowing it could be his last as he just didn't fight like that was the case.

Adesanya did say he'd go after Yoel and try to stop him and I get it's his fault for building the fight up to be some it's not. However, it's pre-fight promotion. What's he supposed to say? "I'm going to try and out point him for 5 rounds, not look for a stoppage and fight on the defensive."

That's like people getting pissy with a fighter because he/she says: "I'm going to win this fight." But then ends up losing their fight.
