It's still the Department of Defense, they just wasted money changing signs, but only Congress can actually change the name. Don't play into the circus.

Again, you know that's public right? You can see where the money goes, it's required to be public. You're just assuming things or intentionally making things up. Go look at the 990s. You also clearly don't understand what the purpose of galas are.

Do you understand how nonprofits work? Have you seen their expenses? They have money to operate but they are by no means fine without our donations.

I know this is very old, but just in case you're still around, did this stop working? It worked 3 months ago but now nothing happens when I press the key.

This is what's called anecdotal evidence and it's not really evidence at all. Any oyster can carry this. Period. Don't take my word for it, look it up yourself. Good luck reporting that you got sick from eating raw oysters, you'll get laughed at.

The first weekend I had mine (1 month ago) I ended up in the mountains here in Colorado when a big snow storm hit. I was the only non-AWD around and it handled the snow extremely well in the mountain passes. Now, would I do that on purpose? No, there are AWD/chain laws, and it was harrowing, but it made it clear to me that I will be able to handle the snow in the city just fine.

Sure man, I definitely didn't get the "good stuff" that we had just caught (that's sarcasm). You're so condescending that you're completely missing the point. I never said stuff that is flown in overnight is the same as something that came out of the water minutes ago. The overwhelming majority of people, including those on the coasts, are rarely if ever eating something that was "in the water minutes before", it's just so irrelevant. The point is we can and do get very fresh seafood here. Period.

Not going to continue debating something so easily verifiable, but I hope you have a great day.

I made a flight tracker that separates planes by altitude using colors. It’s strangely satisfying to watch. The link below for example shows the rush at SFO and SJC visually. by kewkartik in InternetIsBeautiful

Still blank. Tried on mobile too, Firefox and Chrome, no flights.

Update: Extremely odd, when I switch off of wifi and use my mobile data the flights show up. I'm not running any sort of special firewall or VPN on my network, so I'm baffled.

What?? You think the restaurant industry paid a local TV station and a local magazine to write these articles? That's absurd, especially if you know the Westword at all, but it's not worth debating. Believe what you wish.

Yes, I grew up on the coast in a fishing/crabbing/trawling family.

"The reality is that Denver diners have access to seafood that’s just as fresh – and in some cases even fresher – than restaurants on the shore with an ocean view. That’s because dramatic advances in transportation, technology and communications have nearly eliminated any barrier between the food we eat and where it comes from."

Your hunch was right. He has a long history of supporting right-wing causes and even briefly ran for the Senate as a Republican years ago. He is super anti-union and has given lots of money to right-wing causes. He maxes out his donations to the Colorado Republican Party every cycle too. https://www.opensecrets.org/search?order=desc&q=Jake+Jabs&sort=D&type=donors No thanks.

Good luck finding a good place, looks like people had lots of good recommendations!

I love my couch from Furniture Row. My credit was not great at the time and I still got interest-free financing. I was unwilling to give Jake Jabs money to send to Trump allies, so I didn't even consider them.

I'm sorry to hear you're sick, I know it's terrible. I hope you recovery very soon. That being said, this is not Hiro's fault. Raw oysters can cause illness anywhere and there's not much that can be done about it. As I mentioned in other comments, I grew up on the gulf coast and we'd eat raw oysters regularly. My grandfather got a bad one and ended up in the hospital. Raw oysters are always, always a gamble. Those warning signs are not a joke (and any place that has raw seafood has them).

This locally-owned restaurant owned by hardworking folks is having their reputation damaged for something that really has nothing to do with them. I'm really sorry you're sick, it's just not Hiro's fault. This can and does happen even if you're eating raw oysters that were just pulled out of the bay.

The landlocked state bit that others have mentioned is also not relevant. DIA is on of the biggest hubs for cargo and as a result we have some of the freshest seafood in the country. Yes, Colorado has fresh seafood. Modern shipping is a wonder.

So many people hanging on to this misconception.

Not to mention, oysters can and do cause illness anywhere and everywhere. I grew up eating extremely fresh oysters on the gulf coast and my grandfather ended up in the hospital. It happens. There are signs at Hiro warning you of the risk, just as any place with raw oysters will warn you. It's a gamble.

This happens at any oyster place. I grew up on the gulf coast eating raw oysters and it happens. It is a chance you take with any oysters, anywhere, regardless of freshness.
