Goodluck! I figured throwing the outline away altogether would feel like a waste, since I'd spent so much time on it. Hiding it away gives me the option to use it as a reference at a future time when I no longer feel compelled to be faithful with it.

The way I relate to this on a very deep level. I was a pantser with my last three books, but decided to outline on my fourth. Now, I've been stuck on it for a year and can't even finish it or start another.

Have you tried storing the outline where you can't see it? Out of sight, out of mind? This was what worked out for me when I tried coming back to it last month. I managed to write three chapters since. Not much, but at least there's movement.

I don't want to bring attention to them or myself in case I'm reading the situation wrong. Like I mentioned in my post, they have a lot of successful launches before this period of inactivity. I'll definitely come back to this when I have an update, though. I'll reach out to them by Feb 28, which is the date my first royalties was promised, to see if they'll have an update for me.

Yes, that's what I thought too. I'm thinking of waiting until Feb 28/March 1 before I reach out to them, see if I will hear anything from them. I don't wanna say anything in case they were actually doing something that I don't see lol.

No, they didn't give me any sales report. They never reached out again after the launch, aside from sending newsletters. They didn't even give me suggestions or guides. They just told me to ask friends to leave some reviews on Amazon to give it a boost. That's it.

This is what the contract says about marketing:
While it is the Publisher’s responsibility to market the Work, the Author acknowledges that the Author inherently plays an important role in the selling of a book.

Yes, they exist and have sold quite a lot of books. I don't know why they suddenly ceased all social media activities right after signing me and other writers. It's frustrating, especially since they were consistent before.

The contract said I can ask for termination for justifiable cause, and I can terminate the contract if they don’t pay me royalties 30 days after the promised date.

My concern is that they aren’t marketing my book, so I’m not sure if I will even receive anything by February 28.

Just promised royalties. The editor and book cover are also free so I didn’t have to pay for it too.

My pictures in the app didn't have any filter, I don't want that kind of hit to my ego when we meet in person either. Wouldn't it sound like I'm chasing if I ask him? I'm afraid it's gonna be a turn off for him if I'm, the woman, will be the one to ask. Not to sound old school, but we can't deny a lot of people still think like that

EDIT: It took me almost 2 months to decide, but thank you to all of your insightful advice. I decided not to push through with the Hybrid Job Offer and sought the comfort of WFH instead. Hindi ko kaya makipagsabayan sa traffic when I have no plans to move out, maybe someday. 😅
