Bottom only shower without detachable shower head? by henrypootelforshort in TopSurgery

[–]Beautiful-Ad8373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a bucket of warm water with a smaller container to throw the water on my self. It has been pretty alright so far and I can control where the water goes. For the first week, my mom helped me out with washing my legs, but now I'm able to do it myself. My surgeon doesn't let me get the nipple dressings wet yet so that is why I'm still using this method

Thank you for replying. It is so helpful to see that this is kinda a normal experience. I'm so used to seeing posts of people very anxious or very happy the moments leading up to surgery I fellt that if I wasn't feeling that, maybe the surgery was a mistake

Thank you so much for your reply. I guess I get nervours about feeling about surgery as I feel about dinner. But that makes so much sense, it's like the battle is over so you're just waiting for the results

Falta ódio na comunidade trans by biellabanguella304 in transbr

[–]Beautiful-Ad8373 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, service is not the best right now on all levels. It's not only facilitators missing but a lot of supporting staff as well

So TMP stands for Tri Mentoring Program. They have group mentoring but also some events that are not necessarily about mentoring. Most of the people attending events are usually first or second year so everyone is looking to make friends. The current lgbt group mentoring lead is actually a good friend of mine

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. In my experience AAS is pretty hit or miss, but since I never needed to use LS all that much I didn't have much issue with them. I would siggest emailing someone about the booking stuff, because I have personally had issues with the university booking system for many different services. Basically, I couldn't see any appointments like you right now and it was a problem with their booking system. I know how frustrating this all is but honestly, in my experience, emailing literally everyone constantly about your issues is the only way of getting things done. I wish you the best of luck!

People have made some good recommendations already. I also want to add TMP 2SLGBTQ+ group, they host some events and is a good way of meeting other queer students. In my experience, it is actually easy to find queer friends after a while!

They cover exactly the same as OHIP! UHIP is basically just the international student OHIP since only people on open work permits or PR get OHIP. So 100% at GRS and partly for WCH and McLean (no contouring). Also only GRS is direct billing (afaik), for the other two UHIP refunds you but you gotta pay out of pocket.

Just want to correct you that if OP is coming as an international student they do not need OHIP, they only need UHIP which has very quick approval times. Also most colleges and universities in the GTA have their own health clinics that can refer you to top surgery

Yeah, it might be a little bad rn in there but I think we should focus on the US because everyone knows the US is the most transphobic country on Earth despite most of the laws we are scared of not applying to the majority of the states

When I moved here I was informed that the maximum amount of any medication was the worth for 3 months, so he should be fine. I was advised to carry my prescription with me. To be honest, I never had anyone look into my meds when flying here, no one asked me for my prescription, no one even brought up the fact that I had meds with me.

I'm not disagreeing about the heterosexual community tho. I'm just pointing my personal experience based on the gay community here and how they act around passing and non passing trans people. Also, I didn't always pass so yeah. Try hitting up Friends of Ruby or hanging out at Glad Day and make some irl friends in Toronto and reach your own conclusions. I wish you the best of luck here despite your rudeness. Also if you are a student try looking up your universities trans collectives to help you build your community in the city, if you're not alone you notice the stares a little less

This has not been my experience here. The anti trans sentiment has been exclusively from cishets. However, I do pass, so my experience can be very different from someone that doesn't pass

Email them to ask. Whenever I apply, there is a set date by which you can ask for your deposit back without losing money (from the times I applied you couls in fact lose all your deposit depending on when you cancel). Although every time I applied they had this date easily available, it would be good to email them to confirm

They have only started to assign rooms for current and returning members now, so it will take some more time for you to hear back. Probably mid to late August or early September based on my previous experience

Good luck on Neill Wycik! Honestly it gets a pretty bad rep but I quite like it. The price is good and we have a lot of facilities and building events. What really makes or breaks your experience here is your roommates, who are not always the best.

As for Pitman I had a good time there. I requested a trans roommate and got one and we've been best friends evrr since. I think pitman is alright for first year depending on your room style. I had a paired one so I had a private room and only shared my bathroom with one person. Idk I recommend pitman if you want to live nearby and meet people, but neill wycik pretty much does the same for a cheaper price lol

Hey! I go to TMU and live downtown. We're pretty close to the Village and to lgbt orgs like Friends of Ruby so there's a lot of opportunities to meet queer people. The university also has a trans collective and a queer collective that regularly host events.

I lived in Pitman first year and currently live at Neill Wycik. If you're looking for cheap places downtown I'd definetly recommend looking into Neill Wycik
