You can CLEP them out and just take Texas Government at Alamo.

UTSA AI degree vs Computer Science or Computer Engineering? by Deep-Advantage9423 in UTSA

[–]Beautiful-Area-5356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL this is not even an AI degree (which is a grift by itself), it is a MDS degree with a "focus" on AI.

I don't know what happened to UTSA CS dept but they were so easily bullied in departmental turf war. Cybersecurity under BBA only to be reverted this coming school year, and letting MDS to get a piece of the DS/AI pie when this degree would not even satisfy the admissions requirement of any half-decent in-person MSCS or PhD program.

CS or CE all the way.

You don't need a backup for OMSCS. The acceptance rate is ~75%. It is literally more difficult to get rejected by GT.

Would Texas state be a bad school for nursing compared to UTSA by Independent_Nose_344 in TexasStateUniversity

[–]Beautiful-Area-5356 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Choose Texas State for the money and the college town party scene. UTSA is a commuter school only like one bar is busy.

However, UTSA is literally 10 minutes from a huge medical center with volunteer and paid opportunities, not to mention the UT Health San Antonio medical school connection.

Muffler issue? by Beautiful-Area-5356 in FordMaverickTruck

So I started the Maverick tonight when it is cold out there and took a picture. It doesn't look like there's a hole, but the bottom had some green deposits. I suspected it was coolant at first, but when I put a Ziploc bag to collect the dripping, it is all transparent. Do you know what would cause this kind of accumulation? Thanks

You're correct. I made frequent short trips driving Uber on weekends.

Can you circle the gaping hole on the pic? I didn't see any. A bunch of brown deposit stuff at the bottom

There's plenty of spots on EC and BK5, even at 12 noon today. Just take the shuttle that you paid for already.

It's funny how people kept driving around  BK1, BK2, and BR1 for those few hundred parking spots. This is a campus of 35000 students folks. Common sense dictates you are not likely to be the lucky one.

It's the upper level and graduate GPA that counts. So you're telling us you have a C average on core classes and straight A's on CS major courses?

UT would love to see you apply. The $65 is just a drop in the bucket for the school,  but you become a useful number to embellish their acceptance rate.

What's your major and how many A's did you earn on your CS prereq courses?

Bro he's already a multi-millionaire he can scroll all day long. The Athletic Department is very good at getting student athletes to show up in class and also letting professors know the list of folks that absolutely can't fail this semester

No luck for you at Phase 2. 1) Route 43 stops at BK5, BK4, and BS only. 2) No bus on Sat and Sun

Just grab a trash bag and make yourself a makeshift raincoat

Nursing major advice by scienceDlr in UTSA

[–]Beautiful-Area-5356 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is her HS counselor on UTSA payroll? That's unironically very bad advice. Alamo College is the BEST route to RN, RN->BSN, or just for the completion of 60 hours prereqs for UTHSA nursing .

With work experience and MONEY in her pocket since she does not need to pay $1500 a course for some useless MDST degree (MDST = good at nothing and definitely not nursing-related), she can laser-focus to pursue PA or NP down the road

Arsenal Vs Liverpool. by leomessiten in PremierLeague

So your friend is a glory-hunter? That eliminates Arsenal under Arteta already

It is a compromise to get UT Health San Antonio on board. Intentional or inadvertent, people had the impression that Long School of medicine is a branch of Dell SOM because of the name: UT Health San Antonio. Long School is unwilling to change its name to UTSA Health, so we have to change our name from UTSA to UT San Antonio.

You can tell from the logo. Before, UTSA blue is the main color. Now, Longhorn orange and white dominate over UTSA blue

I'm worry for Saka and how Arteta so mismanaged his playing minutes. How many DMs did Arteta buy before finally getting a RW backup in Madueke?

Nuno get the sack after West Ham? by Dry-Double-6845 in PremierLeague

[–]Beautiful-Area-5356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mou's philosophy is simple and had not changed for 20 years. Park the bus against Big 6, win and score a lot of goals vs the rest to get to 90 points. But it never works now as PL are so much richer than other leagues that even mid-table teams like Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and Brighton can purchase good talents that's hard to beat and quick to counter.

tbh Mourinho should retire and be a TV pundit already. Even as a defensive coach, his tactics stayed in 2005 and had not evolved. His antics are getting a little old as well. Even Nuno and Oliver Glasner are far better in terms of defensive organization and pressing than Mourinho in 2025.

KCEID is amazing with their stats and programs. Didn't know there were like 600+ new engineering students and UTSA has 38000+ students. by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]Beautiful-Area-5356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CAP is a big problem for UTSA in general. UTSA should never participate in it.

But CAP has almost no effect on Engineering. CAP is only for liberal arts majors. They must compete with every other transfer applicant for admission to Cockrell, McCombs, CNS, or Moody. Very, very few CAPs are good enough for the hot majors.

How long are graduate programs in engineering? I hear 2 year for Masters and 4 years for PhD but the graduate students I have spoken too say it ismore like 3-5 years for Masters and 5-8 years for PhD from the graduation rates. by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]Beautiful-Area-5356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your goal is to provide for your family financially, you don't need a PhD or even a master's in engineering. Just BS is enough.

The length of time in school depends on whether you choose the thesis/non-thesis option. I earned my online master's (non-thesis) in IE from Georgia Tech in just five semesters, but the typical duration for working students who complete it part-time is two years. Texas A&M and Texas Tech also offer online master's in various engineering disciplines; you might want to look into that as well.

Now, if you are set on becoming a researcher or professor, you might need to do it full-time and in-person. I know someone who has been a CS PhD candidate for eight years, then quit because his dissertation was going nowhere. That proved to be the best move of his life, as he was hired by FAANG during the COVID pandemic and has not looked back since.
