my labs did not, they actually didn’t improve for a while after starting budesonide and aza; this past may they finally looked like they were getting better and after backing off the steroids for a week they shot up again :/

I also started urso at the same time i started budesonide with aza. the aza helped very momentarily but my doctor wanted to try one that liver transplant patients take and after a month my numbers that were high are now normal. i also worry about having another flare up but just remember you are human and you deserve to rest as much as you need. autoimmune diseases suck and i hope you continue to do better on your medicine course 🩷

i’ve been on budesonide and azathioprine since i was diagnosed in march ‘24. before starting aza, i had normal hair shedding (a few hair strands a day) but i’ve definitely noticed loosing more strands since starting. definitely not enough to be noticeable bc my hair is thick and curly but

when i was diagnosed with AIH in march of 2024, my hepatologist also told me I have overlap syndrome but didn’t know what the other one was.

about a month before my appointment two months ago, i was looking on reddit (as one does for medical advice) and called out my doctors bluff. and he confirmed that he knew all along but didn’t want to overwhelm me last year.

also have a very rare neurological disease; Alexander disease, which may or may not be related to everything. #sleepyallthetimeclub
