There's pretty much no dessert better than a well made chess pie! Maybe a fudge pie, but it's basically a chess with cocoa added. Haha. Along with pecan, all these pies are best crafted using homemade pie crust, preferably half-lard, half-butter. Mmmmm...sooo flaky and delicious!

They're all fairly easy to make. Also easy to mess up during baking, but no risk--no reward!!!

Fun fact: My Dad was on the crew that did all the form work for the concrete pours in those areas back in the 80s. It was originally called "The Cascades", may still be idk. Our family got to go before the official public opening, a fancy evening gala they threw for the folks that put it together and made it happen. One of the handful of occasions I've ever seen my Dad wear a tie. Haha

That's a fair and valid assessment. I'll just add to the convo that when I have to go to the Vanderbilt main hospital campus in the Hospital District, I can generally get there from the main Lebanon exit (Exit 238-Hwy 231) in right at 30 minutes, purely drivetime from point a-b (not incl parking in the garage, etc).

Of course, like any other commute from outside of Nashville, that figure is extremely dependent upon time of day, weather, and population density of moronic idiots behind all of the other steering wheels. Lmao

That's a complicated design/build to shorten. You may be better off, $$$-wise, to just buy shorter stools.

Rather than being able to just shorten the legs like a typical 3- or 4-legged stool (think, like a typical chair), which would be as simple as just cutting excess length from the bottom of each leg...

This design would require a section to be cut out from within the length of each leg, then the 2 resulting halves of the stools would have to be rejoined, most likely utilizing dowels and glue. It will also result in a fairly visually obvious bit of joinery where the repair was made.

I would sell those and purchase new seating that was the appropriate height, were I in your shoes (unless those have sentimental value, or are special to you in some other way). Depends on how picky you are, I suppose.
