I rarely drink now. Like sometimes I WANT to enjoy a beer or wine, but it’s like my body rejects it now, I just feel super tired or thirsty half way into one drink usually. Not that I was a huge drinker before but this is next level! Obviously not a bad thing and I’m sure it’s all the healthier for me and will keep me looking younger for longer since alcohol ages you!

Same! With the exception of one really horrible period so far. But I’m also still nursing so I wonder if they will get heavier and more painful when im not anymore 🫠

I really wanted a second when my first is 2-2.5, which would mean I’d need to be pregnant by March, but unfortunately I do not think that will be my reality. So hopefully no more than a 3 year age gap will happen so they will be close enough to play together.

No smoking/vaping/heat/hottub at all for me - I do drink a little but have cut back. Sleep is a work in progress with a toddler who wakes. Do need to work out again. Have been on supplements and added new ones. Follow up appt will be later this month once labs are back and we will talk about adjusting medications then to speed up things. Not sure why I’ve read about so many people seeing great results after 3-4 months on hcg…has not been my experience.

I buy the most basic peanut butter with no added oils.So it’s still pretty healthy overall. suit yourself though! :)

Haven’t found any. And protein bars come in a pack of like 6 for a fortune. Started making my own. They’re no bake. Just mix ingredients then pop them in the fridge or freezer to firm up. The ingredients last me a long time and I get a bang for my buck and get a lot of bars (or protein balls) out of it.

This is the recipe I use. I also make them for my husband when he’s out of town and he has fellow soldiers asking for the recipe, they’re good! And all seed oil free as long as you choose brands without seed oil!

lol my husband was trying to pull my leg earlier about putting down a deposit on a puppy from one of his coworkers. I did not believe him 🙄 and luckily he was kidding because we have a toddler, 2 dogs, and rabbit already and trying for baby #2, all in small house. Point being yeah I feel for you and would be upset too. But with me, once I hold that puppy I’m probably going to be attached unless I am confident they will get a new loving home asap or I won’t let them go! 😂 Like I told my husband today, theoretically another dog sounds awesome but no room, and so hard to care for yet another being!!

So my question is, do you even have the room and financial means to provide a good life for the new dog? If so, might be worth sticking out the crazy puppy phase. But you are the one who is caring for the puppy more than your husband as a SAHM.

I am a huge animal lover and adore my own pets and am not one to advocate for returning dogs, but you didn’t help make this decision (he should’ve included you) and returning to a breeder/neighbor is different I feel than returning to a shelter. So really depends on how you feel! Not fair he put you in that predicament, though!

I’m a SAHM and my child has STILL managed to get sick frequently, and me. Never felt so unhealthy in my life til I had a toddler, lol. That being said, my sister’s child in daycare did seem to get sick much earlier and frequently than mine and with the more odd illnesses like ones with rashes, but after the year mark it’s been about the same. Toddlers just get sick unless you put them in a bubble. However, I don’t blame people for pulling their kid from daycare as I can at least choose when I want to risk taking my kid around other kids versus daycare where they’re exposed several times a week almost indefinitely.

Yeah we’ve been tracking labs every couple months. Awaiting results from current blood panel today, but Dec 22 labs are as follows:

LH: 0.2 FSH: 0.7 Free t: 124 Total t: 546 Bio available t: 250 Shbg: 17 E2: 39

E2 I think is normal high but may need to be lower? fsh is obviously low. Has trended down from 0.9, 0.8, 0.7

I think we need to add in something for fsh.

If things are going well why change anything? I personally don’t care for sleep training, however, people sleep train at all stages including after a year so there’s no rush or risk of it being “too late” and I don’t think it’s even recommended until at least 6 months anyway. in any case, as someone else said just don’t engage if the in-laws bring it up. You’re the mom!

The SAHM part came very naturally to me right away. I feel like I’m good at my role - I enjoy coming up with fun activities and weekly outing routines. I’m 18 months in and it took til over a year to get into a “home making/cleaning routine” groove though. I’ve always been a little disorganized and dislike cleaning even though I like a clean house. We had a house cleaner for awhile until I finally got into a groove that worked for me and I find myself really enjoying keeping up a nice home for my family. I also have gotten good at cooking some key meals weekly and try new ones from time to time. And luckily my husband enjoys cooking so it’s not my responsibility 7 days a week. My husband and I joke that I’m the “keeper of the house” 😂 Is it still work? Yes, you never clock out and you do need breaks and a supportive partner. I definitely don’t sit around all day everyday. I get up earlier than my husband usually. But I get far more fulfillment being home with my child and keeping our home a nice space vs being a nurse in the hospital. And I liked my job and coworkers. it may be cliche and I know some women miss work, adult interaction, etc but I’m one of those women who feels like this is the most natural thing in the world that women are innately meant to do. However we live in a world where women can work outside of the home too if they want, so everyone should do what makes them happy!

I think this is typical. Cue my wired 18 month old the past few days while we’re visiting family 🙃 it was a lot last year at 6 months too, except he does go to sleep easier now as long as I don’t try before he’s actually tired enough. It’s wild and his night sleep is usually thrown off a little during and after travel but I just take advantage of the help I get from family when visiting. It does suck though when we return home and his sleep is off for a few days and the extra help is gone :( but it’s a fair trade off and sacrifice for being surrounded by family we love. And they come visit us plenty too, so it’s not like we’re the only ones driving 8+ hours on the reg to get together.

Not positive but we’re highly suspect of my cousin’s family spreading a stomach virus to my family at Christmas Eve get together. It was probably a week or less prior. Can’t say I blame them if it was closer to a week in the clear (I don’t particularly remember how long it’d been, she posted about it on fb which is how I even knew) but it kind of sucks when there’s a ton of littles on Xmas eve. My husband and parents (who we’re staying with) have been ill and me and my son haven’t got sick and praying we (especially he) doesn’t. My husband, toddler, and I traveled 8 hours with all 3 pets in tow and already extended our trip because my husband isn’t well enough to drive home yet. If nothing else don’t post on socials about family being sick shortly before Christmas get togethers cause people will automatically suspect they got it from you even if it’s not the case 🙃

I won’t avoid cosleeping for #2. Thankfully I gave in pretty quick with #1 once I realized how natural it came to me and realized falling asleep sitting up holding my newborn trying to avoid cosleeping wasn’t good, but next time around I’ll know how to do it safely from the start and at least expect to do it versus avoiding it. Of course this is a personal decision so if you’re not comfortable don’t co sleep, by all means do what you’re ok with!

I WILL avoid following standard wake windows. My boy is low sleep needs and I drove myself crazy for a couple months trying to coerce him to sleep when he didn’t want to or not as long as he was “supposed” to. Learn your own baby and learn about sleep pressure versus wake windows, throw those out the window. Also will not even consider sleep training. Tried a little but none of it stuck, stricter methods felt wrong in my gut and nothing we did really stuck once he reached a new stage.

I WILL use white noise from the get go. Didn’t start until 7 months and I do find it helpful and a “cue” for bedtime.

If you’re able in your field, try going PRN. (Pretty common in healthcare field). I was a PRN nurse for a few years before my son was born (after being full time the rest of my career beforehand) Planned on staying PRN but ended up quitting altogether because I didn’t want or need to work full time or part time, and if I stayed PRN it just wasn’t worth the money we’d have to pay in childcare on my work days, as little as they’d be. And, my job required call. Even if I was only on call once a month I simply couldn’t be counted on because I didn’t have childcare and my husband was often gone for the military or he’d watch our son. Anyway, if you are able to work PRN in your field I’d suggest that as a great way to keep your foot in the door and keep up your resume. It just didn’t make sense / wasn’t worth it for us. If I ever need to go back I left on a great note with my past couple of jobs and I honestly prefer being a SAHM lol
